Pricing value pages
-
We have the main pricing page here: https://www.eginnovations.com/product/pricing
Then depending on what you click, you'll be taken to the appropriate form on one of these pages:
- https://www.eginnovations.com/product/request-quote?pricetype=saas
- https://www.eginnovations.com/product/request-quote?pricetype=perpetual
- https://www.eginnovations.com/product/request-quote?pricetype=subscription
How should I handle these? Noindex, follow? Set a canonical? I keep getting notifications that these are duplicate content, but it's just a way to keep the form fills organized. Thanks for your help!

Ah the bane that is parameter variant URLs. Mostly duplicate, tiny differences - Google doesn't usually like them (there are exceptions, but here it's clear that there's a genuine / flagged problem).
No-index / robots.txt are a bit over-the-top for this kind of stuff in my opinion. Obviously you can't use redirects to consolidate as in this situation that would prevent users from accessing the stated form variants (not cool).
You have two sensible options:
1) Canonical (using canonical tags) the parameter hooked forms to their non-parameter based ("pricing") parent (https://www.eginnovations.com/product/pricing)
2) Canonical the less used form variants to the one which is most often used (e.g: all parameter form variants to https://www.eginnovations.com/product/request-quote?pricetype=perpetual - which is stated to be the 'popular' option) - and let them all sit separately to the parent (which contains no forms, this page: https://www.eginnovations.com/product/pricing).
My preference would be to try option 2 so Google at least has a chance of indexing the pricing URL _and _the most popular form variant. If you **still get duplication notices **then go nuclear and slam option 1 down.
When you put a canonical tag on a page referencing another URL as the canonical version, the active page (the one with the canonical tag on it) becomes non-canonical and is usually de-indexed by default. So no need for crazy robots or no-index Meta shenanigans.
Hope that helps!

Duplicate page titles for blog snippets pages
I can't figure the answer to this issue, on my blog I have a number of pages which each show snippets and an image for each blog entry, these are called /recent-weddings/page/1 /2 /3 and so on. I'm getting duplicate page titles for these but can't find anywhere on Wordpress to set a unique title for them. So http://www.weddingphotojournalist.co.uk/recent-weddings/…/2/ has the same title as http://www.weddingphotojournalist.co.uk/recent-weddings/…/3/

Why are my Duplicated Pages not being updated?
I've recently changed a bunch of duplicated pages from our site. I did get a slightly minimized amount of duplicated pages, however, some of the pages that I've already fixed are still unfixed according to MOZ. Whenever I check the back-end of each of these pages, I see that they've already been changed and non of them are the same in terms of Meta Tag Title is concern. Can anyone provide any suggestions on what I should do to get a more accurate result? Is there a process that I'm missing?

Crawl Test Report only shows home page and no inner site pages?
Hi, My site is [removed] When I first tried to set up a new campaign for the site, I received the error: Roger has detected a problem: We have detected that the root domain [removed] does not respond to web requests. Using this domain, we will be unable to crawl your site or present accurate SERP information. I then ran a Crawl Test per the FAQ. The SEOmoz crawl report only shows my home page URL and does not have any inner site pages. This is a Joomla site. What is the problem? Thanks! Dave

Google Places Page Changes
We had a client(dentist) hire another marketing firm(without our knowledge) and due to some Google page changes they made, their website lost a #1 ranking, was disassociated with the places page and was placed at result #10 below all the local results. We quickly made some changes and were able to bring them up to #2 within a few days and restore their Google page after about a week, but the tracking/forwarding phone number the marketing company was using shows up on the page despite attempts to contact Google through updating the business in places management as well as submit the phone number as incorrect while providing the correct phone number. And because the client fired that marketing company, the phone number will no longer be active in a few days. Of course this is very important for a dental office. Has anyone else had problems with the speed and updating Google Places/Plus pages for businesses? What's the most efficient way to make changes like this?

Duplicate Page Title for Wordpress
Hello, We are using WP for our blog and keep getting Dup Page Title errors for our 12 author archives pages. The title of each page is the same, but I am wondering if this is WP issue with canonicalization working properly. The most recent four pages have a linking root domain and carry some Page Authority, but the older pages do not. Is this what Rand was talking about in his Google+ whiteboard Friday talk about blog post relevancy not lasting as long as articles? Here's what it looks like. Side question, is there a reason why the SEO Moz website doesn't have a Google+ button anywhere easy to find? Thank you, Michael

Too Many On Page LInk
The analysis of my site is showing that I have a problem with too many on-page links. Most of this is due to our menu, and wanting users to be able to quickly get to the shopping category they are looking for. We end up with over 200 links in order to get the menu we want. How are other people dealing with a robust menu, but avoiding getting dinged for too many links? One of our pages in question is: http://www.milosport.com/category/2176-snowboards.aspx

Ads at the top of the page
hi mozzers, I have a website made in dreamweaver. Right at the very top of all of my pages is a text advert with a link to an affiliate in the ad. This link is very lucrative and gets a lot of sales, but i'm concerned it may have some negatives from an SEO perspective. As it's the first text on every page, i'm guessing bots will read it first. Could this potentially cause problems? If so, is there a best practice that would allow me to keep it there and keep the bots happy? Cheers, Peter
