Buying Facebook Shares?
-
Would it be considered buying links if you asked your Facebook fan base to share a specific product page, and by doing so they will be entered to win a drawing? How would Google look at this? And could we expect a significant increase in rankings as a result? Or would it just be a temporary "what's trending?" boost you think?

Thanks Paul, good stuff!

If this did influence your rankings, it would only be short-term and it is ultimately still a tactic aimed at manipulating their algorithm.
I would say that your time and money would be better spent on a similar competition with industry bloggers - maybe you could send a few emails saying that the best press release, story, review or related blog post wins X.
Chances are these bloggers will link to you, providing more value than Facebook likes in both the short-term and the long-term.
You could also just get a blogger to review the prize you were looking at providing - quick, easy and natural.

How can I change the Facebook Page shown in the SERP
Hi everyone, got a quick question in regard to our Facebook page and its appearance on the Google SERP. We have individual Facebook pages for every country and language. Unfornately the UK site is ranking in the German SERP rather then our Germany Facebook Site. The UK site is way older and has much more likes which most likely explains why this page is (still) outranking our, fairly new site (couple of months). Is there a way, to push my German Facebook Site in front of the UK Site in Germany? Any advice or tipp is much appreciated. Thanks

How to implement products in facebook to generate maximum traffic to site and facebook profile page?
Lets take the example of a hotel reservation site offering 500 hotels. Any suggestions on how to present the 500 hotels within their facebook page so that they generate maximum traffic and interaction? No intention to offer checkout on facebook. E.g. adding image of each hotel in the photo album with link to website and some information about hotel. Any ideas? Any good posts or articles on the topic?

So far I have included the HTML 5 code in my site and it is visible, but how can I moderate the comments before they are being posted? I have included into the header of the root of my site but when viewing the comments area on a page within my site I cannot see any moderation options? Hope this makes sense and someone can help Many Thanks

Using LinkedIn for Facebook likes?
Now I know that shortcuts are usually not a good sign for SEO. However if I am on a group on linked and there are Facebook like exchanges going on I am getting real people in the right market, right? See picture for more details. Is this valuable? NGpT0.png

Merge Facebook profiles for SEO?
We are considering merging facebook profiles for our three stores. If we do this, users will not be able to "check in" at a location, but wouldn't it be better to have 4,000 fans on one profile than to have 2,500, 1,000, and 500 fans on the three profiles? The main site for these stores is also an ecommerce site.

Crawlable Facebook Comments
A lot of blogs are beginning to use facebook comments. I came across a WordPress plugin called "Crawlable Facebook Comments". The plugin makes a text version of your iframe comments visible to googlebot. You can see how it works at: http://www.zewlak.com/crawlable-facebook-comments/ Is there really any utility to this seo-wise? Comment content is normally not optimized and you will end up linking to a bunch of facebook profiles. What do you folks think?

Promoting a Facebook Contest
Hi, Mozzers- I'm running a contest for a client of mine via Facebook - http://www.facebook.com/barrettmoving. The prizes are great an iPad2 and an iPod Touch! The contest is pretty cool too. Basically it's a papercraft / travel thing that appeals to a wide range of people. Anyway, here's my question - I've started promoting the contest via social media, the website, online contests...like to get to promoting it on relevant blogs too. I'm in the beginning stages. Any other ideas? Has anyone had luck with PPC or FB ads? Thanks in advance! LHC oVThP5PcRvo
