Question about audience targeting in Google Ads
-
I am setting up a test campaign where rather than structuring my campaigns by the normal ad group>keywords with no targeting. I am making duplicates of my ad groups and targeting each duplicate to a different audience so I can target the ads better. But I also want my non targeted ad group to remain to pick up people who are not in my targeted ad groups.
In the non targeted ad group, should I exclude all the audiences that I have targeted in the targeted ad groups to avoid any cross over?
Thanks
-
Actually Rajesh, This can’t be answered definitively without knowing what the audiences are - it may or may not be possible to do at all depending on this.
Doesn't help, much apologies.

I guess you are talking about display.
Yes, We can Exclude
Without Targeting our ads showing for all Audience for location which you have selected in display and in search without targeting not possible ads you have to give one Targeting

Looking at google shopping results from other country
Hi, I run shops in several languages out of London. One of our key revenue drivers is google shopping. It is important for me to look the the shopping search results for example in germany. Recently Google changed something so when I want to look at the german shopping results from here, eg. http://www.google.de/shopping it always shows me the english ones with prices in pounds. Is there a trick to still get the foreign results? Thanks in advance Dieter

Will Google penalise me if i noindex lots of pages?
Hey everyone.. I hope you can help! I have optimised my product landing pages for SEO keywords based on volumes. I've been doing PPC for 3 months now and I can see that a lot of the keywords which drive clicks are not showing as high volume in the SEO volumes. My Adwords quality scores for these PPC keywords are low, 6&7 /10... So this leaves me with a predicament - do I 1. Re-optimise my LP's for PPC instead of SEO keywords?
Paid Search Marketing | | Woav
2. Create new LP's just for PPC and no index them? (I could use DKI to good effect here I think thus reducing the necessity to have multiple LP's targeting numerous PPC keywords) But my concern was this... will Google frown on me having lots of similar LPs but only 1 indexed? Or maybe I'm going about this in the wrong manner? Really appreciate any advice anybody can provide on this!? Rick0 -
Adwords View Through Question
Hi Mozzers! I've got an Adwords Remarketing account performing well in terms of View Through Conversions but not regular 'old Conversions. We are getting about 10x more View Throughs than regular Conversions. Is this close to typical or in the expected range? Any suggestions about how to trade these around, working towards getting more regular conversions and less view through conversions?

Best way to automize generation of google ads - API, scripts etc.
I am in the process of setting up a fresh adwords account for a recently launched ecommerce site with about 3000 products and would like to automize the generation of the ads based on a spreadsheet of our product database. I would like to have full control over the code to generate these ads and a programmer with knowledge in SOAP and javscript would be availlable to assist in implementation. Any recommendations? Would you use adwords API or rather adword scripts?

Do you know whether there may be any existing code for doing this that we could just adapt to our requirements?0 -
Google Display Network had 3000 new placements in May
Hi all, I'm running through traffic figures from May as there was a huge spike. This is down to a spike in Adwords, specifically the Display Network. In May 2014, there is a total of 4337 placements. In April 2014, there is a total of 1561 placements. With nearly 3000 new placements where the ad could be shown, would anybody be able to explain as to how and why this has happened? I've run through the change history, and nothing i've done explains the extra placements. Auto add placements was on, but has been on for 12 months with no more than 50 extra per month. The only change that has been done that may link is I've added a mobile phone extension on ads displayed on mobile devices? The significant extra cost has been of no benefit to the campaign, as the advert displayed on various apps, forums and irrelevant websites.Would be great if anybody could shed some light here! Thank You

A heads-up about problems with the new Google Adwords Keyword Planner tool
I noticed that when I was using this tool, the data in the tables would change, often by a lot (up to 50%) when I sorted the columns. (Did nothing else, just sorted.) Since I was starting a new campaign and really needed data, I contacted Google about this and was told: "I understand that the estimates are changing in the Keyword Planner tool when you sort the data. I reproduced this on my end as well and was able to confirm that this is a known technical issue on our end." "Unfortunately the information in the Keyword Planner Tool is currently not the best source of data for your analysis." They then went on to suggest I just test things blindly. So, what do you do to get information about keyword traffic and ppc estimates?

Adwords Product Listing Ads & Google Analytics mis-reporting
I hope you're sitting comfortably, this could be a long one and loaded with questions! Cut to the chase: Why is traffic from google product ads showing as 'organic' traffic in GA? Here's the scenario: Google Shopping I have thousands of products in a feed to google shopping (froogle, google base, google merchant, whatever you like to call it, I'll settle for google shopping for the purpose of this question). The URLs of this feed is tagged with GA tracking data (notably utm_source=GoogleBase&utm_medium=Product-Search), I have also tagged this with internal tracking which comes through in the back-end to assign orders to that specific source. In this case 'GOOGLEBASE'. Adwords Product Listing Ads As you know, a new (ish) feature of adwords pulls in your products from google shopping so that you get a richer ad (image, title, price) and displays this in the 'advert section' of the SERP. Once setting up a few of these, I noticed I was getting a fair amount of traffic for these new ads, taking one example, which resided in a relatively specific ad group (advertising Aviation Snips). Naturally, I wanted to find out which keywords were driving that traffic in order to improve the ads, or kill them if they weren't working. What was interesting is that I can't find anything about that traffic anywhere in adwords or google analytics. 254 clicks to 'aviation snips' must show up somewhere in analytics, if not the keywords, then what about the product? Analytics is showing nothing like that quantity of visits to those product landing pages where you'd expect. It's like ghost traffic. Google Analytics Since experimenting with product listing ads the organic traffic in GA has suddenly shot up, looking at the new keywords they are all queries which when I test them show up product listing ads in the SERP so it's obviously the paid listing ads driving this traffic. Why is google reporting these as organic, rather than paid? I also noticed a keyword appear as * in the PAID segment of analytics. I thought this was my missing aviation snips traffic, but digging into the landing pages for the * keyword, they are many different ones. There's a connection between the * and product listing ads, but what is it? Is the traffic being doubly reported? Back End Meanwhile we've seen an increase for orders tagged in the back-end of GOOGLEBASE which makes sense - google are pulling in my google shopping feed into the paid part of the SERPs and these are generating sales. Here are some of my initial thoughts / theories: 1. When google pulls in google shopping results into the organic part of the SERP, these get reported as ORGANIC in google analytics, even if you've tagged them otherwise. It seems they strip the tags out. This makes it very difficult to know if your google shopping feed is working well, or if you are doing well on standard organic traffic. 2. Google isn't separating out traffic as PAID with their new product listing ads, completely skewing the reports. It makes it look like you've gained great natural organic listings when if fact you are paying. 3. With relation to the missing Aviation Snips data - maybe google is showing a huge variety of products for that adgroup (even though it's specific) and therefore I can't see the traffic to the specific products that you'd expect. This I'm most confused about and wondered if I've missed a trick in setting the product listing ads up? I've attached a couple of screenshots which I hope will help clarify some of this. I can see product listing ads being great if you could get proper data to analyse and improve them. So here are my questions again if anyone can help? How do I see which keywords are driving the product listing ads? How do I see the landing pages for the product listings ads? What is the * keyword coming through in GA? How can you get GA to report product listing ads as paid rather than organic? Thank you so much. If I can gather enough data on this all and work it out I'll try to write up in a blog post to help others. 0rOMM.png GUAE0.png fWPL7.png
