Hi have a number of links going to 2 different pages
https://www.caffeienmarketing.co.uk/bristol
and
https://www.caffeienmarketing.co.uk/bristol/ (with a / on the end). they both have different PA and links are being reported separately to both (this issue goes right through my website.
What should teh default be, how do I fix it and how do I get the benefit of both sets of links for one of the pages?
thanks

Hey Carrie,
The first thing I would do is figure out which version is already indexed by Google or like other Mozzers have stated pick the version with the higher page authority according to Moz.
Also, in the event, your CMS doesn't handle the trailing slash issue you can update your Htaccess file to set up dynamic redirects to whichever version you prefer.
Daniel Morell has a good guide on htaccess SEO specifically there's a section on how to force trailing slash within the htaccess file.
Good luck

Hi Carrie,
Your CMS should be able to handle the trailing "/" on your website and provide consistency across all pages. If not, I would advise you to check with your developers on handling this.
You can also do the following since both pages are treated "differently"
-
Identify which version of the page you want to have as your main one. The one with a hight PA would probably be better.
-
Have all your internal & menu links point the page you identified as being the main one.
-
Once you've chosen your primary version, configure the Canonical element of the other page to point to this page.
Hope that helps!

I can't get to either, including with spelling "caffein" so can't help you - different content on each? If same content then I think setting a canonical tag will help? Adrian
-
as you will see there are 2 versions of most pages. My home page favours the non slash

Domain Authority and Fixing the site
Ok, so let's say I have a page on my site that says "Find a Personal Injury Lawyer Boston" Obviously that is very competitive and it is hard to get links for. However somewhere else on my site I have an article that says "10 mistakes to avoid when making a will." In theory, if I can get links to the "Making a Will Page", that increases the domain authority of my entire site, and boosts the likelihood of ranking for "Find a personal injury lawyer Boston." Is this correct? Let me know and thanks for your help!

Link building from keyword domains
Hi all, I am currently working on link building to our site http://www.betxpert.com which has a number of keywords I am targeting. I have become aware that domains with the keywords are available. We (in Danish) target the phrase "ekpert tips" and the domain www.eksperttips.dk is available. Would it be a good thing for us, to register this domain and do one of the following things: a) DNS forward traffic to our main site b) Build a small blog with minor content and linking to the main site with text links with the tekst "ekspert tips"? c) Simply do nothing, save the money and spend it otherwise... Hope someone can give me a sound advice. Best regards, Rasmus

When searching for high quality links, in a niche area such as real estate, does page rank factor into a search or is page / domain authority the most important factor?
After having employed many different methods for finding good link partners I am now finding it more difficult to reach out and identify good quality links for a niche area such as real estate. Does page rank factor into the search much or is it better to focus on page / domain authority as a major factor?

Is the frontpage/deeplinking ratio of backlinks an important ranking factor?
Hi, i am asking me since a while, if the relation of the amount of frontpage backlinks divided through the amount of deeplinks pointing to a domain is an important ranking factor? In this area, i am not so much looking in the total numbers of backlinks, but more at the number of linking root domains. Do you have explore the ratio of frontpage/deeplinking as ranking factor reqarding the 100% of external backlinks? So for example, what do you consider better, asuming all root linking domains in theory are equal, for the SERP of the main keyword for which the frontpage is running on Google. Case A Frontpage = 80 Linking Domains

Subpages = 20 Linking Domains 80 / 20 = 4 / 1 (4 times more frontpage linking domains than deep linking domains to subpages) Case B Frontpage = 90 Linking Domains
Subpages = 10 Linking Domains 90 / 10 = 9 / 1 (9 times more frontpage linking domains than deep linking domains to subpages) Case C Frontpage = 95 Linking Domains
Subpages = 5 Linking Domains 95 / 5 = 19 / 1 (19 times more frontpage linking domains than deep linking domains to subpages) Greetings from Hamburg,

Can link juice be passed in an iframe from domain A to domain B
Need to give our web partners our booking form which must be loaded in an iframe calling back to our domain. Is it possible to pass any link juice from their domain loading our iframe back to us. Was thinking of a "Powered by" text link in the form footer, but I'm guessing the link needs to be outside the iframe. Would love to hear any thoughts or workarounds on this.
