If I have too many on-page links can I reduce it with nofollow tags or do the links have to be removed?

On my site I have a top nav drop down menu but once visitors go to one particularly large subsection, that menu is repeated on the left for easier viewing. As a result, I shoot over 100 links on page. Can I put nofollow or noindex tags on the left side links and reduce my "official" on-page links count or do I have to actually eliminate some of the links?

I think you need to get more clear concept about nofollow. Most of the time people think about passing link juice. ask youself; are all those links important for your visitors and all those pages linked from left bar important too, if so then why nofollow. You are giving your visitor the right thing. Having said that you need to rethink about links too sometimes we think having many links on one page will benefit visitors, in reality its wrong. you need to design your site navigation in such a way where ppl can easy go from one page to another page. Usability is key too. Group your links, pages and content and design everything from customer prespective. Google love sites, which are develop for customers. Anyways nofollow is not and never been a solution, inshort most of the people have wrong concepts about nofollow.

You cannot 'reduce' the link count (from Google's perspective) by the use of nofollow (you used to be able to do this somewhat - 'link sculpting'), or meta tags. You'll need to reduce the number of links on the page. Sorry for the bad news.

...however, if these are internal links, and I suspect they are, Google has recently made efforts to reduce the 'impact' of navigation links SEO wise - you might just be ok.

One of our clients currently has a number of pages that "Too many on page links", Â Now her menu in itself has the majority. Â With it being an eComerce website it has quite a few categories. Â How harmfull is this to search rankings. Home page or landing page?
Hello, I want to ask a question related to that - Should we put keywords in the home page title if we wish to position another landing page better for particular keywords? I have read in one website about SEO that it's good the main keywords of your website to be positioned in homepage title also. f.e. Let's say we have website about web-design and our company is named Company Ltd. The title of the home page is "Company Ltd. - Web design, SEO, etc" We have also another inner page named "Web design | Company Ltd.". So should we leave the first page name only "Company Ltd." and the landing page's name "Web design | Company Ltd." . I don't know if they both have the same keyword in their title they won't compete with each other.

Does the title tag on the home page affect sub-pages?

Too many outbound links on a page?
We have a "Clients" page on our site with approximately 125 of our clients listed. We have a link to each client's website, so that's 125 links. I am rethinking this approach. Is there any value to having these outbound links? The SEOmoz PRO analysis tells me I have too many links on this page. I have read that more than 100 links on a page is too many, but that seemed to be referring to internal links. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Limiting On Page Links
Right now, we have about 160 or so links on the home page. Â It's been recommended that we keep it to under 100, though that's not as big of a deal as it once was. Is it helpful to make a bunch of those links "nofollow" in order to preserve link juice? Â Is it going to make a difference, or be at all helpful? Â I assume it won't be harmful, especially as a bunch of them are to the same page but on different sections of the page. Would live your advice and thoughts! Â Thanks!

Can my amount of internal linking seem spammy ?
Ecommerce site. I am optimizing for each producer of products on a separate page. Atm my provider does lack some functions(i cant put in H1 , title and can put text only product pictures) on the product pages - like here http://www.epleskrinet.no/smafolk/M_23Â . The are updating within 1-2 months to allow me do this. This has led to actually some of the products themself ranking higher that the producer page. what Ive been doing is to put anchor text and link back to the producer page for all 9 products on this page. Is that a problem or should i just do it like this ? thanks

Canonical tag for home page
This question was asked before but I didn't see a clear answer to it. If I've got a site that has as it's home page: http://www.mysite.com/, and there are many references within the site back to the home page that point to /index.php, should I include a canonical tag in the index.php page like this: to avoid a duplicate content issue, and to have all juice from both links combined into one?
