Some site pages are removed from Google Index
-
Hello,
Some pages of my clients website are removed from Google Index.
We were in top 10 position for some keywords but now I cannot find those pages neither in top 1000.
Any idea what to do in order to get these pages back?
thank you

If that's the timeframe, it's most likely not the recent Farmer Update. I'd guess it's most likely to be a penalty of some kind (manipulative linking practices, cloaking, thin/duplicate/scraped content are the most likely culprits). You might check out these posts for more detail:

It's hard to say without looking at the site however it's likely it's tripped the new quality filter. Try improving content on a single page and see if it makes difference. If yes, then apply to others.

You should also check Google Webmaster Tools for messages from Big G. They provide good insight on crawl issues quite a bit of the time too.

Hi Dan,
Thank you for your quick reply.
For 3 months they were in 4th and 8th position. then from 1-2nd february they're gone.
the website is older than 3 years. and yes the pages are indexed by google.

There's not enough information here to help you. How long did they rank? How old is the site? When were the pages removed from the rankings? Are they still indexed? Did this happen at the time of the recent algorithm change? Answer some of these questions and we can more easily answer yours.

Google indexing is slowing down?
I have up to 20 million unique pages, and so far I've only submitted about 30k of them on my sitemap. We had a few load related errors during googles initial visits, and it thought some were duplicates, but we fixed all that. We haven't gotten a crawl related error for 2 weeks now. Google appears to be indexing fewer and fewer urls every time it visits. Any ideas why? I am not sure how to get all our pages indexed if its going to operate like this... love some help thanks! How to know how much pages are indexed on Google?
I have a big site, there are a way to know what page are not indexed? I know that you can use site: but with a big site is a mess to check page by page. This is a tool or a system to check a entire site and automatically find non-indexed pages?

If I want clean up my URLs and take the "www.site.com/page.html" and make it "www.site.com/page" do I need a redirect?
If I want clean up my URLs and take the "www.site.com/page.html" and make it "www.site.com/page" do I need a redirect? If this scenario requires a 301 redirect no matter what, I might as well update the URL to be a little more keyword rich for the page while I'm at it. However, since these pages are ranking well I'd rather not lose any authority in the process and keep the URL just stripped of the ".html" (if that's possible). Thanks for you help! How do I influence what page on my site google shows for specific search phrases?
Hi People, My client has a site www.activeadventures.com. They provide adventure tours of New Zealand, South America and the Himalayas. These destinations are split into 3 folders in the site (eg: activeadventures.com/new-zealand, activeadventures.com/south-america etc....). The actual root folder of the site is generic information for all of the destinations whilst the destination specific folders are specific in their information for the destination in question. The Problem: If you search for say "Active New Zealand" or "Adventure Tours South America" our result that comes up is the activeadventures.com homepage rather than the destination folder homepage (eg: We would want activeadventures.com/new-zealand to be the landing page for people searching for "active new zealand"). Are there any ways in influence google as to what page on our site it chooses to serve up? Many thanks in advance. Conrad

Google Index Speed Opinions
Hello Everyone, Under normal circumstances, new posts to my site are indexed almost instantly by Google. I know this because an occasional search with quotation marks surrounding the 1st paragraph of text displays my newly published page. I use this tactic from time to time to ensure contributors aren't syndicating content. My question is this: I've noticed over the last day or so that my newly published articles are not yet indexed. For example, an article that was published over 24 hours ago does not appear to be indexed yet. Is this cause for concern? Is there an average wait time for indexation? XML issue? Thanks in advance for the help/insight.
