Sitewide VS Editorial page, wich one is worth the most?

Hello fellow SEOMozzers,
For a long time I've been wondering what would give the most SEO benefits for a keyword based query between these :
1. A sitewide footer link on SiteA with keyword anchor text to SiteB homepage
2. A sitewide footer link on SiteA with brand name to SiteB homepage
3. A single link on SiteA homepage to SiteB homepage
4. An editorial page on SiteA about SiteB with links to homepage and deep pages
Did someone ever did that kind of experiments? Is anyone having better results with one kind of link strategy?

#3 or #4. Think of about.com - getting a link or two from an article on there is great, and makes sense to google. Getting a link from the front page (content area) is a great endorsement too. #1 and #2 are easily discounted by bots and users alike as being lower quality.

It really depends on the site's needs. Let's say that you already have acquired enough anchor text specific links but need to water down your links with greater brand and/or anchor text diversity. A sitewide link with your brand may be just what your site needs (plus it makes it look like you have a ton of links, discouraging potential competitors).
If you haven't yet acquired enough exact match anchor text, I would go with ane ditorial page with a single link to the single page that you are trying to promote. The 3 links-per-page thing is beginning to become an easy footprint for blog-review style link building.
That being said, in terms of pure PageRank / mozRank passed, a sitewide link would pass the most. Whether that correlates with rankings is a totally different question.

There are a lot of factors that go into this including the authority of the site you are getting the link from. If I had to pick just one then I would go with #3 most of the time.

Wrong page ranking and rank drop, help!
Dear Moz community I would like to hear your advice about our current SEO problems. Our website is www.poolsonline.nl. This is a website where people can learn the Polish language on our website. This website has been online since 2007. The website got really outdated, so we built and launched a new version on March 1st (one month ago). We have created a salespage that we would like to rank for the keywords 'cursus Pools' (Polish course) first of all and 'pools leren' (learn Polish) secondly. The page is https://www.poolsonline.nl/cursus-pools-leren-spreken/ The old website was on rank 4-5 (roughly) for 'cursus Pools' and 'pools leren'. When we launched the new website we were on the top 5 with two of our pages. We were even on rank 1 and our salespage was also showing on the first page and often also in the top 5 (below the 'wrong' page of ours). We got quite a lot of trafic and new clients. However the problem was that the wrong page was ranking higher. We wanted our salespage to rank and not our home page (https://www.poolsonline.nl/) and not our free lesson (https://www.poolsonline.nl/lessen/groeten-en-gesprek-voeren-in-het-pools-les-1/). So what we did: Read/watched recourses about this problem: https://moz.com/blog/wrong-page-ranks-for-keywords-whiteboard-friday and https://moz.com/blog/wrong-page-ranking-in-the-results-6-common-causes-5-solutions and others. Removed the keywords (cursus pools en Pools leren) from the wrong pages (home and free lesson pages). Optimized the Salespage for these keywords Improved internal linking with these key words to our salespage Worked on link building for our salepage. We got about 5-10 links to our salespage in the first week of March (5 seems to be significant for this competition and we are working on more). These links are not yet in Moz OSE, but Google has indexed these pages and links. We are now on the bottom of page 1 or on page 2 for 'cursus Pools' and 'Pools leren' and not with the desired page Questions we have for you to help us: Why do you think our salespage is not showing up anymore for these keywords ('cursus pools' and 'pools leren')? Do you think we got a penalty for over optimization or bad links? What can we more to get our salespage to rank for these keywords? (we are working on building/earning more links) What can we do to restore our rankings and not drop lower anymore? Do we need to give our efforts more time? How long? Any other adivce? Impact of distribution of backlinks across multiple pages
Community, I would be interested to see if anyone has been seeing any experiments, experience documentation, or other data that would give context around the impact of pointing backlinks not just to your money page / home page but distribute it across pages. When doing competitive research I often run into competition which has lower domain strength and page rank but a link profile that is more spread out across their domain; these competitors often outrank my site despite their individual page properties being weaker. Any reference to existing documented experiments, personal experience or guidance is welcome.

Links to "boring" pages
Hello Mozzers, EDIT: Is internal linking enough? This question is my head for a long time. Let's say I have a webdesign company and a website (really?). I have a blog and write quality content on a weekly basis. The content is great and people love it, they share it on social networks and other webmasters link to these articles. Now I have one optimized page, that brings me the business. Lets say: mywebsite.com/webdesign-service On this page I only have boring stuff like saying what I am offering and testimonials and stuff. So basically a page no one shares and no one links to. But it's important to rank with the keywords targeted on this site. How do I get to rank this page? A page that doesn't offer value to anybody. Normally, we shouldn't have pages like this, but some companies do boring stuff and creativity doesn't help. Maybe this question is stupid, forgive me but I don't get it. I am thankful for any answers on this!

Backlink count is WAY high vs. competitors
Hi all! My site was managed by a SEO company that is no longer around. I started to look for a new agency and in the process, found Moz and decided to try out the report. While running the report, found out that my I have 3K links vs 173/1600/6344 links that my three other competitors have. Any simple guidance will be appreciated.

2 links going to same domain but different pages
Hi, How is the link juice distributed when you have 2 links in the same article but they go to different pages on the same domain? I know some say if 2 links go to the same page in an article then only the first link passes juice. Would it be better to have 2 articles each having 1 link or 2 articles each having 2 links?

Ranking strategy -which pages to rank?
Hi, I hope you can help. I am looking to rank for 10 keywords. My homepage has some authority. On what pages should I focus my optimisation on? Should I create a new page for each keyword and build links to these pages or try and optimise my home page for a number of keywords? If so how many keywords should you optimise for from your home page to get the most clout? Im a little confused about which strategy would be the most effective. Many thanks.

Two Links, Same Anchor Text, To Same Page. Is There A Point?
Hey guys, My question is this. Let's say I have an article, "How To Golf". I post this article onto my blog. Then I write a complementary article to the first article called "Introduction To Golf". My plan is to submit this new article to various directories to build backlinks for the article on my blog. So here lies my question. Say I am allowed two links from my new article to the one on my blog. The anchor text I am using is "golf". Is there a point to including two links with the same anchor text (golf) in the new article pointing back to my blog article? When Google spiders the complementary article will it consider the links two separate links with the anchor text "golf" or will it just count the two links as one link. After all, the two links have the same anchor text and are both pointing to the same page.
