Telalinks.com - good idea or not?
-
I found this website:http://www.telalinks.com/how.shtml
Is it a good idea to join?
Apparently I need to upload a 1kb file into my website that contains links out to some other relevant websites. Not sure if they will increase SEO rank of decrease it?

Agreed that I would not dare use it either. You couldn't pay me enough to be part of that type of link exchange, even if all 5400 backlinks were dedicated to my exact niche (not that that many sites in my niche even exist!). If you look at the telalinks site more, you can see they do a poor job of maintaining their own site. There are multiple 404 pages when you click for an example of what a links page would look like, and in a random clicking of some of their sites in the advertising section I found a male porn site, a Chinese medicine site, and designer handbags. If they pay this little attention to their own site, I am really not going to trust what they put into a 1k text file for me to upload.

Hi Graham,
I quiet don't understand your question. You did ask if it will increase or decrease SEO rank if you link OUT to relevant websites?
What confuses me is the link you mentioned above, because this seems to be a platform where you get links IN.First of all if you link to relevant other websites that's a positive sign for the searchengines but you will get no boost in rankings therefore.
Shortly to TelaLinks: If you can get 5400 backlinks for free to your site instantly - this is more than suspicious to me. These are no natural links and machine driven and in my opinion is not a white hat tactic and I would not dare to use it.
But I have to admit I don't know that platform ...

Ideas needed for onsite SEO
Hi, What sort of activity 'onsite' should I be doing to increase SEO? I was thinking of a FAQ's section with 1 anchor text link in the body of the answer going back to my target page. Will the increase in content along with the anchor text inside of it help increase SERP's? I was also thinking maybe use the keyword tool to find search queries which revolve around questions with high search so for example 'How to change a tyre' answering this question in my FAQ's section and running PPC to it, then wrapping lots of sharing tools around it in the hope it generates some social signals. Anyone got any hidden onsite gems they think might help? Cheers

Good guest blogging communities?
Besides My Blog Guest, does anyone know of any good guest blogging communities? The aforementioned, based on my few weeks of use, seems like a great community for guest blogging. Curious if any similar sites exist.

Paying someone to get me links-bad idea?
By this i dont mean paying for links as such...I mean the people that advertise on websites like Fiverr saying they will get you links to your site from edu/gov domains...or angela/paul style links etc. I'm doing all the proper link building stuff like blogging/guest blogs/articles etc etc but am up against competitiors with thousands of links...Is this a way to 'catch up' or should it be avoided. I'm new to all of this so be gentle lol...grateful for any replies

What to do with some good links I have?
I have some pretty strong links from relevant sources linking to the homepage of a site I deal with. The links are usually from a PR3-5 pages and display specific result about the linking site. Sometimes they come from badges. We offer several services, so sometimes the page is about one service and next time about the other. Currently all of my pages link to the homepage. Would it not be better to link to the specific product page related to the page I have? Also I can do a canonical to the service pages? Which would be best?

Good link building companies
I'm wondering if anyone has had good experiences with any of the link building companies out there. I'm really looking to hear about those companies who go beyond the mundane forum links, blog commenting, bulk directory submission, article directories etc. It's all been done to death. I've used webuildpages.com, they are pricey, but are good at getting high quailty links.
