How to remove a Google algorithmic penalty
-
My site has a Google penalty. I seem to be stuck in the 64th position for a Google search for my sites name. All my keywords that I used to rank well for are now well above the 60th search place in Google.
I have resolved the issue I recieved the penalty for and I have asked Google for reconsideration. That has been about 3 months ago. The penalty is still firmly in place.
I was wondering if anyone else has had a Google algorithmic penalty removed and if so how did they accomplish this?

Hi Todd,
I'm following up on some of the older unanswered questions in Q&A. Is the penalty still in place for you, or did you get it figured out? Are there any lessons learned that you can share with us, or any questions you still have?
Thanks!

Hey Todd
I saw some pretty major impact on one site on the 7th of Feb, it seems that a fair few other UK people did as well, I don't think it is a penalty, just an algo change of some sort but still trying to get my head around it.
Can you post the URL and keywords? Happy to take a look.
Cheers
Marcus

If you have triggered algorithmic penalty there is no other way to fix it other than removing the cause for the penalty. Only manually assigned penalties can be fixed by submitting reconsideration requests. Google makes the whole thing that much more difficult by NOT telling you what caused it. One of our clients had a penalty of this type assigned and we did the following:
1 - Cleaned up backlinks for paid links
2 - Removed variable driven repetitive text across all pagesIt took 4 weeks for re-inclusion. We don't know what caused it, 1 or 2.

Hey,
A site I used to manage picked up a penalty, quite innocently as it was and we got it removed, and a few weeks later it got it back again. Basically, they had some subdomains for testing client sites, removed them in teh hosting control panel and it ended up with the domains pointing at their site and they had several URLs all indexed for their content.
We 301'd all the domains and wrote a reconsideration request and that did the job. Then, somehow, we had missed one and it got penalised again, repeated the process and it was okay again.
As it happens I have another site that seems to have picked up a penalty on the 7th of Feb yet there is really nothing wrong with it as far as I can see and to make matters worse, the competition is pretty much breaking google guidelines left right and centre (mostly doorway pages).
I'll show you mine if you show me yours?

Google penalty removal expert questions
We have searched online for a Google penalty “expert” (individual or company) and have located what appear to be “experts”. Please provide feedback on the following 2 individuals/companies we have found that can help with penalty removal. Have you or one of your clients used either of the “experts” below? What were the results? How many disavows and reconsideration requests did you/they have to make? 1.www.penaltypros.com . To give a quote and to see what your links are they use links from Google Webmaster Tools only. Penaltypros.com disavows first and then removes bad links second. This is opposite of what Google and Seo’s recommend but penaltypros.com claims 100% success using this non-traditional approach. See imgur.com link for screenshot. 2.http://www.hiswebmarketing.com/ To give a quote and to see what your links are they use links from https://ahrefs.com/ only. Please provide any and all feedback on the above 2 “experts” and also post the websites, individual names, company names of those that you consider Google penalty removal “experts” so that we may obtain a quote from them. Google Trusted Stores
Hello, So we sell millions of dollars a month in merchandise - most of that comes from eBay transactions. We do have a script that posts to eBay and we do download our transactions from eBay and process the orders from our admin. Now I feel we will do a lot better in the SERPs if we have the trusted stores quality signal. However; it comes down to this. The conversion pixel. Since the don't pay through the site - do you think we can get away of sending a email to a second conversion page for eBay transactions? Have any of you noticed a boost in SERPs once you were approved with the Trusted Stores? Any advise?

Google Analytics Tracking Miscount - Originating Around 5/24
Is anyone else experiencing an issue where it seems GA failed to track many of their visitors? This is why I think it's something on GA's end and not mine (and not natural): 1. No changes were made, site wasn't down, tracking code is correct and is "receiving data" 2. Referral, Direct and Organic traffic all dropped at about the same decline over the same period *3. Pinterest Analytics shows me being sent over 10 times more traffic every day than GA shows me actually receiving. In the screenshot, Pinterest shows 584 uniques while GA shows 43 for Sunday. I figure if something was broken, I wouldn't be showing ANY traffic and if it was natural, it wouldn't have happened on the same decline across all traffic mediums and Pinterest Analytics wouldn't be so far off. I saw a few people mentioning similar things on Google's forums and wanted to ask you guys if anyone noticed any issues? y8XAvwz.png pRsRAmK.png

Does Google still have a standard search result? How can I get it?
I have heard a lot from the experts that there are no "Standard" Google search results anymore. They said that most of the SERP's of Google that show up are customized/tailored for each individuals even if they are not logged-in using their Google Custom Search. My questions are, Is there still a way to retrieve the standard Google search result? How? Are these scripts will be helpful when searching on Google? *webhp?

More context: goo.gl/huekfHas anyone been affected yet ....I seem to see a jump in some newer sites less than 3 months old already for some rankings - I don't like seeing rankings that quick!Do you see anything?

Do "big" SEO companies remove links after termination of service?
Or worded differently: Has anyone heard of "big" SEO companies removing links after termination of service? I have a client who isn't particularly happy with the SEO he's getting from a big Aussie SEO firm, and he wants to terminate, however they've built thousands of links for him and he's a little concerned they might all get pulled. Has anyone heard of this happening, or; Do you think this is a legitimate concern? I think its physically possible to remove backlinks like this because it seems the SEO firm in question is building links by using other client's websites. I also wonder if they might have large content farm style sites where they place links for clients which might be quite easy to take down. Please discuss!
