Google webmasters shows 37K not found errors
-
Hello we are using Joomla as our cms, months ago we used a component to create friendly urls, lots of them got indexed by google, testing the component we created three different types of URL, the problem now is that all of this tests are showing in google webmasters as 404 errors, 37,309 not found pages and this number is increasing everyday.
What do you suggest to fix this??
Regards.

I am in the same condition: how long should I wait for Google to reindex and rerank the site?
I don't want to mess with 301, even my Host has a DirectAdmin panel that allows me to redirect without editing the.htacces file.
Am I getting penalties from Google in the meantime?
Thanks,
DoMiSol

Submit a sitemap with the proper URL structure to Google. Do also a scan of your current URL structure to check that you aren't having actual 404 errors. An option might be also to 301 the previous test URLs to the current ones, but as long as you don't have any links pointing to the test URLs you should be able to get the site indexed properly without messing around with 301 redirects.
Hope it helps.
Cheers

Why has google stopped showing one domain and switching to showing another that points to the same website?
My client has a website here: http://www.savannahchiropractic.com/ The site ranked really well for searches for the term "savannah chiroprtactor". Sometime last week (April 21 mobilegeddon?) the site slipped in rankings, but reappeared under the domain name: "www.whitemarshchiropractic.com" Both URLs go to the exact same site. and I don't even think that the whitemarshchripractic.com site is a redirect. I'm not sure how it's setup, but it's definitely not a duplicate site. The ranking is still lower than the savannahchiropractic.com site, but now appears. Anyone have any insights on this?

How much will 5 of these errors hurt my search engine ranking for the site itself (ie: the domain) if these 5 pages have this error.

Why are old versions of images still showing for my site in Google Image Search?
I have a number of images on my website with a watermark. We changed the watermark (on all of our images) in May, but when I search for my site getmecooking in Google Image Search, it still shows the old watermark (the old one is grey, the new one is orange). Is Google not updating the images its search results because they are cached in Google? Or because it is ignoring my images, having downloaded them once? Should we be giving our images a version number (at the end of the file name)? Our website cache is set to 7 days, so that's not the issue. Thanks.
