Using own domain for Google blog
-
Is it worth the effort using your own domain for a Google blog? After adding my own domain to a blog I see a boost in ranking, maybe the url has more value without the blogspot extension, or that Google might treat the (max.10) pages you produce under your own domain as "independent" thus giving you the chance of building your own domain trust...?

I agree with Egol all the way. However I'm less concerned about Google abandoning Blogspot than wanting to move to another platform, and being able to re-create and redirect all my pages, links, and rank. With your own domain you can do this, but as a subdomain on blogspot.com it might not be possible.
Redirecting blogspot.com sites came up in another thread recently.

One of these days, google will abandon blog spot. Every company abandons almost every product at some point in time.
I know a guy who lost a PR7 site when Yahoo abandonded their hometown. He was left with no way to redirect and was lucky to copy his content elsewhere. Then he started out as a PR0 website with zero SERPs and zero traffic.
Don't build your castle on another guys land.
Don't rely on anybody - not even google.

Having your own domain gives you so many more benefits than being reliant on a 3rd party platform like Blogger or Wordpress. And with super cheap domain registration and hosting, you really can't go wrong with having your own domain. Plus, it looks so much more professional to have your own domain that a domain @ blogspot.

It is always better to have your own domain name as it comes with various advantages.
-
If you are just running the blog, then I don't see where it would. If the site is going to offer more than a blog, then I would set up my own domain and have the blog on that.
-
I don't think it matters that much to be honest. I think Google treats a new blog on blogger.com with the same scepticism as a new domain. Only significant difference is probably the crawl rate - your blog on blogger.com should be crawled very quicky.

Updating a Business Blog Article - Old or New Published Date
There are a few business blogs that I'm currently updating - include more details, information, case studies, statistics etc. The blog was originally published in September of 2016. Once I make the changes, do I keep the same original date or do I change the date to the day that i've uploaded the new information? Example:

Original Published date: September 2016
Updated Blog: June 2017. What date should the blog display? Thank you.0 -
If my blog is on Wordpress, and I've installed the AMP plug-in, what do I need to do to get Google to start indexing all my posts as AMP pages?
If I add /amp to the end of any of my posts, I can see that the plug-in is working. It's been months since I installed it, though, and Google hasn't indexed any of the AMP pages. Am I missing a step?

From a company perspective; would you recommend using a service like postloop to acquire additional blog comments through paying users.
I’m always hesitant when it comes to purchasing comments but it seems like a natural approach. Is this something that Google would take notice and/or frown upon? - Anything we should avoid? Any additional information would be helpful. Thank you in advance.

If you were guest blogging would you prefer a link or revenue share
I am looking at ideas at the moment, we have been getting a large number of guest bloggers wanting to write for our site but i have to say we are turning down around 90% of the articles as they are low quality. So i am just wondering, to attract high quality articles, should we carry on offering a link in the articles or offer them revenue share by asking for their google adsense code and putting it somewhere on the page. If we did offer this, how would we impliment this, we work on a joomla website and have read about rev share but not sure how we do this correctly. Would like to know people's thoughts on this

Having Blog and Forum for Store is Beneficial or Not
Hello ! I am building a cosmetic store. I have blog.storename.com , forum.storename.com. i started both to make my store content rich. On my blog we are personally reviewing cosmetic products. and forum user are sharing experience and problems related to beauty..... But i was reading this post http://www.seomoz.org/ugc/uncover-competitors-using-multiple-sites-for-multiple-first-page-rankings . it has this " Alright, Google dislikes pages, subdomains, and domains with substantially duplicated content. Got it. " Any way my content is not going to be dup at all. but Product which we are reviewing on blog. ll also be on our store for sale. and might be people sharing own experiences about same product on forum. do u think i should worry?

My WebSite has two sections with overlapping, or redundant articles on the same topics. Google is only listing one or the other article in Search Results. What should I do to have both pages (similiar but unique content ) to be listed?
