Content Delivery Network
-
Hi
I have a question
My site is hosted on a server in the city of my target audience
Should i use a Content Delivery Network anyway?
Even if the closest edge location of the cdn is in the neighbor country?
Thank you
Paulo

Paulo, you'll have to test the speed of your site yourself, but you can do so at a place like: http://www.uptrends.com/aspx/free-website-server-network-monitoring-tool.aspx
It will display results from other countries and cities from around the world and help you decide whether or not you need a cdn.

Ryan,
Thank you for your answer
But i would like to know in terms of speed, loading of the site

If the content of your site is location specific and geared toward your target audience in your target audience language with a target audience tld you shouldn't have to worry much about using a CDN, especially if the CDN helps speed up the user experience in all locations.
You can also use advertising that is city / neighborhood specific via Google AdWords and Facebook to help drive more initial traffic and possibly gain more links from other local sites.
If applicable, also add your site to location services such as Yelp, Google Local, etc.
All these things will help your target city rankings more so than CDN server location.

Duplicate Content for Locations on my Directory Site
I have a pretty big directory site using Wordpress with lots of "locations", "features", "listing-category" etc.... Duplicate Content: https://www.thecbd.co/location/california/ https://www.thecbd.co/location/canada/ referring URL is www.thecbd.co is it a matter of just putting a canonical URL on each location, or just on the main page? Would this be the correct code to put: on the main page? Thanks Everyone!

Managing Zendesk content, specifically redirecting/retiring content?
We've been using Zendesk to manage support content, and have old/duplicate articles that we'd like to redirect. However, Zendesk doesn't seem to have a solution for this, and the suggestions we've found (some hacky JS) have not worked. I'd like for us to not just delete/hide these articles. Has anyone else successfully navigated retiring/redirecting Zendesk content in an SEO-friendly fashion?

Duplicate content and canonicalization confusion
Hello, http://bit.ly/1b48Lmp and http://bit.ly/1BuJkUR pages have same content and their canonical refers to the page itself. Yet, they rank in search engines. Is it because they have been targeted to different geographical locations? If so, still the content is same. Please help me clear this confusion. Regards

Content not being spidered
I've got a site with some serious content issues. The builder of the template doesn't understand what I'm asking (they're confusing spidering with indexing). If the page is run through a spider simulator (web confs won't work on this site for some reason) it shows the content is not being seen by Google. The template is Momentum and on Joomla. Most other sites I've found on the web have a similar issue. Basically it's reading the text in the header and footer, but nothing in the body. Any thoughts? www.rocksolidroof.com

Pages with content defined by querystring
I have a page that show traveltips: http://www.spies.dk/spanien/alcudia/rejsemalstips-liste This page shows all traveltips for Alcudia. Each traveltip also has its own url: http://www.spies.dk/spanien/alcudia/rejsemalstips?TravelTipsId=19767 ( 2 weeks ago i noticed the url http://www.spies.dk/spanien/alcudia/rejsemalstips show up in google webmaster tools as a 404 page, along with 100 of others urls to the subpage /rejsemalstips WITHOUT a querystring. With no querystring there is no content on the page and it goes 404. I need my technicians to redirect that page so it shows the list, but in the meantime i would like to block it in robots.txt But how do i block a page if it is called without a querystring?

Canonical pagination content
Hello We have a large ecommerce site, as you are aware that ecommerce sites has canonical issues, I have read various sources on how best to practice canonical on ecommerce site but I am not sure yet.. My concert is pagination where I am on category product listing page.. the pagination will have all different product not same however the meta data will be same so should I make let's say page 2 or 3 to main category page or keep them as is to index those pages? Another issue is using filters, where I am on any page and I filter by price or manufacturer basically the page will be same so here It seems issue of duplicate content, so should I canonical to category page only for those result types? So basically If I let google crawl my pagination content and I only canonical those coming with filter search result that would be best practice? and would google webmaster parameter handling case would be helpful in this scenario ? Please feel free to ask in case you have any queries regards
