How many days for a Backlink
-
Hi
One week ago, i created a blog on wordpress added the url of my blog on google, bing and yahoo.
In that blog i put a link of my webshop (the site im working on SEO) but when i checked the backlinks of my webshop (with seomoz tools and yahoo explorer) , the link from the blog still doesnt show.
How many days it takes for a backlink to be registered ?
Thanks

I use the OSE to monitor more backlinks from competitors because it takes longer to show up the links. The links that appear quickly are Google WebmasterTools and Majestic SEO. But still take about a month : )

From my experience twitter has proven to be a great tool to index new pages really fast on google, but never used it for backlinks. I think, maybe if you do get your backlink indexed the value of it would be close to none (even the profile link).

What about twitter ?
I have a profile for my webshop in twitter, i created maybe 6 months ago but no backlink !
Then i checked one of my competitor and he gets a backlink from his twitter profile page...
that is very weird

I notice that the higher the Page Rank of the page you posted the link the faster it is saw by the Search Engines. Don't know if that its true, its just my guess.
Also I recommend you to use the Yahoo Site Explorer, its the fasted tool in the web to show you the indexed links. There are several backlinks that I saw showing there in less then 24 hours after it were created but Google Webmaster Tools and the Tools here in SEOmoz normally takes longer, the Google Webmaster Tools for instance I think its pretty random to show the new links.

Lots of people think that they can toss up a blog and manufacture immediate backlinks for their primary domain. But if that blog has no inbound links from other domains that are indexed by the search engines then the links on the blog will pass zero value back to the primary domain. In fact, they might never be discovered by crawl.

Linkscape is only updated once a month, so be patient. search engines can take weeks or even monrths to find the link also.

This is Julia and I am SEO Executive at J com. I would like to ask that If we are building 150+ quality backlinks per month for any website and 30 backlinks are deleting each month from 150 backlinks so It would be OK (natural) OR it would affect website ranking. I am looking forward to your response0 -
Organizing A Backlink Authority Category Page
I work for a company that has many promotions throughout the year, some big, some HUGE. Typically they have created a landing page for this content. The issue is, when this promotion ends, we will kill the landing page, thus 404ing the backlinks and putting the page authority in purgatory. (1) What would be the best way the keep these pages organized? I was thinking about creating a main "Promotions" page with the current promotion on it (the previous ones linked on the bottom of the page). Then when the promotion ends I would copy those contents and add them to a new page and link to it from the original "promotions" page. An issue I see with this is that the promotions page would always have the same Title Tag and vanity URL. (2) This could provide many links to the "promotions" page over time to build it's authority, but would constantly changing content hurt ranking factors?

Backlink management: 301 redirect unsuccessful.
I am managing my company's spammy backlinks using Open Site Explorer. Our company owns a few URLs that are related to our company or are iterations of our main URL. All of these additional URLs have 301 redirects to our main domain. Open Site Explorer has identified one of these URLs as having a spam score of 8 indicating a 56% chance of Google crawler penalization. Obviously, this is a red flag. Instead of being redirected to our main domain upon visiting the URL, I was directed to what seems to be an automatically generated, generic webpage with links that seem to have been generated by keywords from our main domain. I have seen this type of webpage before when incorrectly typing in URLs from other pages. They tend to look the same. They have a black background with the URL written in grey at the top and a rectangular related links bar. Is anyone familiar with my problem and could you offer any advice? Thanks, Ben

Can I Get Penalized for 301 Redirects (Too Many or In Any Scenario)?
A client of ours owns several domain names that are keyword similar to the domain they actually use to run their site. They are asking us if we should 301 redirect all of these websites to the domain they use. However, I don't want this to work against them and their site get penalized later for this. I have heard buying out competitors and redirecting their domain to yours is frowned upon and penalized when you get caught (they did not do this). We are also wondering if there is a limit as to how many domains you can 301 redirect and what type (keyword similar, misspellings, .net's, etc.) and if you are penalized after too many (i.e. >50). All of the domains in question are keyword/brand name similar only and do not exist as actual websites. We just want to do the right thing. Thank you for your help.

How many times robots.txt gets visited by crawlers, especially Google?

I know we can check when is the latest downloaded from webmaster tool, but I actually want to know if they download every time crawlers visit any page on the site (e.g. hundreds of thousands of times every day), or less. thanks...

How can I create an accurate backlink profile?
With Google's emphasis on punishing over-optimization I would like to make sure I keep a close eye on my backlink profile. Link Detective is a great tool, however, for sites which I know have thousands of backlinks in WMT and MajesticSEO, OSE only finds a handful--maybe 10%. How can I trust the information I get from OSE to provide me with actionable data when the raw numbers of backlinks are so far off when compared to the other databases.

Is having too many outgoing external links bad?
I'm currently writing articles for my site Eugene Computer Geeks and remember reading somewhere that having more then 100 outgoing links is a bad idea. I plan on writing lots of guides, and most of them will have several relevant links. Some examples are: a virus removal/prevention guide I want to link to the different antivirus programs I'm recommending. Or on the "Free WIFI in Eugene, OR" guide, I plan on linking to all the businesses' websites that offer free wifi. **Would having too many outgoing links hurt my rankings in anyway? ** If so, should I use the "nofollow" tag to prevent any harm? I always thought that having lots of relevant outgoing links was a good thing, but lately have been reading otherwise. What is all your opinions here at SeoMoz?
