Getting a link from a page on a site with high site DA but low PA?
-
Does anyone know if it is still worth it getting a link from a page on a site with a really low Page Authority - say a news page on a site that has an SEO Moz tool bar PA of just 1 or 2, but the domain of the site has a high DA like say 83
Is this worth getting??
Thanks

I completely agree and yes this is just my opinion however I am concerned that for example .gov sites etc are the exception and not the rule. I think if you were deciding wether to have a link from a .gov or .edu site then yes it would be beneficial however if it is just a 'trustworthy' domain the impact would depend on far more factors (topical) than simply the trust that the domain holds.

This is just opinion...
I think that if you get a link on loc.gov or kids.gov or sites like that... they will be kickass links no matter how low the pagerank or how many outlinks are on a page. Those links are really really hard to get and really really hard to get links are really really valuable.
They are like letters of recommendation from The Pope.

Thanks, the pages I am looking at seem to be new pages on a site, with no links into them, hence have a really low PA. But the DA is really large for the site....so wondering how good and valuable these links are...

Sounds good EGOL but do you think the same amount of trust is gained from a page that is linking to enough pages that there is no longer has link juice to give (assuming that is the case)?
-
I view it like this.... high PA is mainly going to pass good linkjuice... however, high DA is going to pass something even more special and that is "trust".
I would rather have kickass DA and low PA than the opposite.

In my opinion, no. I would assume that if the DA is that high and the PA is that low then that page is already linking to a large number of other pages and that it does not have much more link authority to pass.

Best Blog Post Length to get Links
Okay, kind of silly question but i am looking for some help interpreting an analysis done by John Doherty almost a year ago: http://moz.com/blog/what-kind-of-content-gets-links-in-2012 In the document he mentions the correlation that longer posts on average receive more links but the graphs were really hard to interpret (for me). Based on the data what is the correct size we should shoot for (most graphs were missing labels). Any one have any insight? Should i shoot for 300 words per post, higher, etc? Thanks! Kyle

Should I link from my blog back to my product pages?
Hello... I just installed a blog on my Magento site. My question is whether or not i should be linking within posts on the blog back to the product or category pages that i am talking about...from an SEO perspective. If in my post i am talking about flashlights being important when preparing for a storm, should i link the word flashlights to the flashlight category on my site? I know I can do this, the question is should i, from google's perspective. A) should i link the word (flashlights) to that category on my page B) should i put a line at the bottom of every post that says something like "if you are interested in purchasing flashlights, visit this link" and hyperlink that whole sentence... THANKS!

Links per Site vs. Domain Authority
Here's a quaint one: 1. Posting follow links on another site helps increase one's domain authority. 2. If I post to the same site/forum with followed links each week, would my domain authority reap a domain authority increase benefit? In short, is there any domain authority benefit to continually post links to a site to which I've already posted a follow link?

High Mozplex strength metrics but Low TBR = Penalized site?
Suppose an old established site's root has High PA, High DA & High MR scores but the TBPR is significantly low. Can it be taken as a pointer that Google has algorithmically capped that site's ability to pass link equity when the home page metrics look suspect? Example case: pegasusdirectory*com PA = 88, DA = 86, MR = 6.61, but TBPR = 3 ( aged site ) (p.s: I'm aware that on inner pages of sites, it's quite normal to see high PA, Page level MR but no TBPR; my question is specically about guaging quality of the link for the DOMAIN in question Should I spend time on getting links from such domains ? ) TIA
