Answers do not have more points. Why?
-
Every day when I get home from work, a web marketing firm in Rio de Janeiro, spent 2-3 hours trying to help other students of SEO, like me. I do not know why when I post an answer they do not have more points on my profile.
I always try to answer questions on issues that i dominate, or exemplifying experiences I ever had. When I am not aware, I never answer, try searching at most.
I really like to to know why my score has stopped.

Thank you Steve
Know I'm a contributor. hehehe

Who helps with information learned twice. Thank you.
-
hehe. 49 moz points eh? It would be cruel for me not to give you a thumbs up right now, here you dude... congratz!!
-
Giving help to others is very rewarding not just through points (although I do enjoy watching mine), so enjoy the experience João !
-
Thank you Alan, it really is refreshing, I'm to a point of becoming a contributor, what emotions, hehehehehe. Thanks
-
Thanks for your patience, I'm new here on the forum, sorry my so basic question.
-
Ah...I didn't know there was a 20 point limit. Makes sense. Otherwise you could just keep posting nonsense answers and still gain points.
-
Click on "MozPoints" next to your point number and read explanation of how points work. You will see that you get 20 participation points and after that each answer gets zero but you can still get thumbs up from others and various other endorsements (by staff or question poster...etc).
-
Just to be sure, I went and gave a thumbs up to your question, then refreshed the page. Your score went up a point. Hang in there, keep participating and it should go up over time.
-
You get 20 per month.
| +1 MozPoint (up to 20 per month) | You automatically get a thumb up from yourself for any question, response, or reply you write in the PRO Q&A forum. You get 1 MozPoint for the first twenty of these contributions each calendar month. |

Thanks, I thought I had been punished for something i did not make, but if it's not just with me, I'm more relaxed.
Who punishes is google, not SEOmoz, hehehehe.
-
It looks like they fixed the bug that allowed you to vote for yourself. However, whenever you post you automatically get a thumb's up, but no points get added to your total...not sure if this is a bug or if this is what they intended!

A mass of spammy links pointing to our domain from dynu.net
Hi MOZ community! Need some help with some strange activity on the link profile of a website I manage... I have noticed since the 4th of August a mass of links pointing to one of our domains. It looks like some kind of attack from dynu.net. I am seeing 100s of different subdomains from this website in the Discovered and Lost area, with DA 1. They are linking to us from very low quality pages with no CSS, that includes just random text. Anybody seeing anything similar or from the same website? Our links report example: https://imgur.com/a/y7pAopJ Also, what is the correct process to deal with such instances? We have used Google's disavow in the past, but I have read that Google are quite proactive at recognizing spammy links, and webmasters don't really need to use that tool. Much appreciated! y7pAopJ

New URL, new physical address, New Name. 30 point drop in Domain Authority. Yikes.
I have a client who is asking for SEO help after renaming their business, getting a new URL, and somehow having an address change (without moving to a new location...weird...I know). This has set them back big time in terms of their domain authority (they went from a 46 to a 15 in DA). The web developers they work with put a 302 redirect in place from their old URL (home page), which had 10,477 links from 52 root domains, to their new URL's home page. Open site explorer shows that they now have 5 links! We can improve some of the local search set backs from the name and address change with a citation audit and clean up, but the domain name change is a killer. So here's my question or questions, really: Do we need to manually rebuild links with partner websites? I know there is debate around the actual link juice passed along from a 302 vs a 301 redirect (despite what has been publicly stated by Google). Or is this just a waiting game while old links get recrawled?

Getting spam Links pointing to our wrong url, what to do?
Hey Mozzers, Looking in my Google Search Console (Webmaster Tools), I'm getting links pointing to bogus pages on my website that result in a 404. What does one do so you can tell Google that it has been "fixed"? Do i just 301 it to another website? If I add it to my disavow list, does Google remove the error in my webmaster tools? Thank you!

New to Moz, need some probably basic answers about Keywords, Linking, Competitors and General SEO
Hi, So I have quite a lot of data colelcted about my site now, regarding keyword research, page crawling and competitor research ect. But I find myself second guessing myself about what I have done and what to do next. I have done basic research for as many relevant keywords I could think of to my site, including branded and non branded terms. If the main competitive keywords for my niche are very competitive, shall I start doing more research for long tail keywords and only try to rank for them? Does is matter how many keywords I am doing research for? Does is matter how many keywords I try to optimise for each webpage? Are the amount of branded keywords I am researching skewing my results? As they are all ranked #1, but nearly all of the non branded keywords are much further down the list... Once I have decided what keywords are worth trying to ranking for for each page, are the techniques to actually rank more highly for them - Title, H1 Tag, Description, Meta Data, Fresh Content and using the keywords on the page? Or are there more techniques I haven't heard of? Under Keyword Rankings - I noticded that some of my keywords are directing to specific pages, like "Cavity Waxes" is directing to the URL ending in .com/cavity-waxes - How do you assign the keywords im researching to specific URLs? - Or does Moz do it automatically? As most of my keywords seem to be unassigned to any URL, is that because they are not ranking highly enough? How do I best use the data collected through Moz? Good practices? Techniques? Tips and Tricks? What is the best practice for finding potential link partners and asking them for mutual linking? Techniques for finding partners that are likely to link with us, but still provides link juice. I must apologise for this long-winded set of questions, but these are troubling me! Any help would be greatly appreciated, Kind regards, Max Johnson

Why are there so few Best Answers?
Why do so many great responses in this forum never get labeled as the "Best Answer". Questioners should realize that many experts give them great advice for free and the least they can do is to show some sort of appreciation by giving a thumbs up.

How to handle 2 domains pointing to the same server.
My client has 2 domains which point to the same sever. eg a.com and b.com both point to the same place. For now a.com has better seo but the client wants to switch to using b.com more. Im guessing 301 redirects will not work in this case. How would I handle this? If i'm forced to manage both domains, what is the best practice for monitoring in seomoz pro. Should i set up a.com as a competitor?
