Article Submissions - Still Worth it After Panda Update?
-
Are article submissions still relevant after the panda update? Many of these sites (ezinearticles) are still hit from the panda update.

Now it is my turn to agree with EGOL.
I would add one idea. In general I prefer not to share content but it can offer value to periodically share a selected article and gain backlinks to your site.
-
I agree 100% with what Ryan said.
Something else to consider is... when you give articles away to other websites you are giving them content that could make them competitors in the SERPs of your primary and secondary keywords. They could outrank you and cut off your traffic.
Also, if you give high quality articles away they will earn links for other websites instead of your own.
We never give articles away because we don't like to feed existing competitors and create new ones.

Yes and No.
YES - If you have a high quality article with good content, and you are submitting it to a quality site, then absolutely it is still worth it to do.
NO - If you are talking about the content farming practice where generic low quality articles are created that are 400 words with the key words thrown in periodically, and these articles are sent to article farm sites, then no.

Should I index resource submission forms, thank you, event pages, etc.? Doesn't Google consider this content too thin?

Still Need to Write Title & Description Tag?
My SEO has advised me that Google has stopped using title and description tags for search results and as such, it is no longer necessary to write specific title and description tags. I see that Yoast seems to pull text to create these tags and sometimes it looks like it reflects the best elements of the content, sometimes it does not. Should I be asking our SEO team to write dedicated title and description tags or is it best practices to leave it to the Yoast plugin? My SEO is of the opinion that writing these tags is not a productive use of time as Google will serve results based on the user inquiry rather than the content on his tags. It sounds logical but it would be reassuring to receive further confirmation of this. Thoughts?"

Changing domain names but still ranking as old one
Hi there, I have a client who changed domain names back in November 2015 but is still coming up in search engines with their old domain name not their new one. For example, I search for my clients name, let's call them Example B. So I search for "Example B" and within the search results they come up top and the title tag is correct as it says something along the lines of "Welcome to Example B". However the URL underneath is actually their old name which is Example A. When you click on the link, it redirects over to the new name so thats fine, but it's just annoying that Example A is still appearing when it should be Example B now. I don't think they have a new Webmaster Tools account setup for their new domain (I need to check still), but they do still have their old one setup. Is there something I can do within Webmaster Tools to tell it that Example A is now gone and to start indexing and referring to them as Example B? What else should I do to make sure their new name is coming up not their old one anymore?

Original Site content was used for submission to article directories
I had a communication problem with my writer and she used original unspun content and posted it to Unique Article Wizard. So all UAW does is take each paragraph and mix them up. So I searched a sentence on my site where the content came from and got back a bunch of returns for that sentence. My site wasn't the first result returned. I"m wondering how bad that is going to be for me. The links from UAW are going back to an anchor layer that then links back to this site. Can anyone tell me if I need to rewrite the content on the original site? That is the only way I can think to make that not an issue. Thanks

Google Freshness Update & Ecommerce Site Strategies
Just curious what other ecommerce SEO's are doing to battle fresh content. We've been having our clients work on internal blogs, adding articles one click away from landing pages, and implement product reviews when possible but I don't know that it's enough. Our bigger customers have landing pages (usually category pages) with very competitive keywords. So my main issue is what to do with fresh content on category pages.. I've toyed with the idea of having the landing page content re written every now and then. We used to use a blog parser to bring snippits of comments from the blog into landing pages but I believe that to be a problem with duplicate content. News snippits from other sites don't seem beneficial either. Anyone have any other ideas?

ETags - Is it worth it?
I've been meaning to try out the eTag entity for a while now. They seem like a great way to notify the bot when to and when not to fetch your content. Fruthermore, it is impliad that proxy servers can make use of them and help your site load faster by not fetching a newer copy if one is not available. This is not something that is easy to test on a small site and implementation on bigger sites is in my case a one way road and a few weeks in hell with the developers on staff. Will eTags take some load off the a site with a lot of traffic and dynamically generated content? Is this a good practice, as far as search engines are concerned?
