Pay Per Post Blog Reviews - Does It Work?

I have come to realize that several SEO companies are basing their entire link strategy on paying bloggers to write a review about their client's website that also includes a link back to their website. I am thinking about adding this as part of my link building campaign. I am thinking about acquiring approximately 15 links a month from PR 2-5 blogs that pertain to my industry and target audience. I am thinking of using the network payperpost.com to find good blogs.
First question: Does this type of link building work well?
Second question: Is 15 links a month from PR 2-5 blogs (writing on my subject matter) enough to help out?

I think that you can get links that will lift your rankings from these services. However, I feel that these are risky links. The risk is probably one of the links being devalued and your site dropping an amount equivalent to the links being removed - thus you wasted your money.
I would not use this service. I would instead invest in content with the goal of having a quality level that is high enough that other webmasters will link to it without any work or payment from me.

Yes.
Paid blogging exists because it works. With that said, Google is getting better at adjusting for low quality content and the blog farms. Usually a paid blogger posts in perfect English, with the right post title, the right keyword usage, etc. They are trained to write for SEO. The problem is the actual quality of the content they write is usually low. They don't know nor understand the topics they are writing about.
On the other hand, many experts will write about topics, but they are not always proficient with English. Also they don't understand SEO mechanics so while they share great information, it is often not presented optimally from a SEO perspective. So when Google balances things out, a paid blog article can rank higher then an article written from an expert on the topic. There are many factors involved of course, but these are some of them.
I am sure there will be others who will disagree with the perspective I am sharing. Of course all sites should strive to create great content. The internet has too many paid bloggers and others who just fill the internet with fluff making it harder for users to get the real content they need. Google still rewards sites for using paid bloggers with higher rankings. As long as that is the case, they will still be used by those without the resources to create the content on their own.
With respect to the amount of links, it is all relative. How many links does your site have presently? Are these articles linking to your home page? Or are they linking to deeper pages? Are the links from 15 different blogs with different root domains? Are they blogging from a general wordpress domain or from a topic specific blog? There are many factors used to evaluate the value of a link. Without seeing your site I would suggest that 15 links/month is enough to help most small to medium sites quite nicely.

Maybe Yes, Maybe No. It depends upon who you are attacking.
Linkbuilding is not a game of numbers, it is a game of relative velocity. Let's say that your competitor has 150 links and you might say... "If I get 15 links per month I should catch him in about a year." That works well if your competitor has a crappy site that attracts no natural links and if he is sitting on his butt instead of linkbuilding.
However, if your competitor is gaining 20 links per month and you are only gaining 15 then you will never catch him.
Also, if your competitor has 150,000,000 links and you gain 15 per month you will never catch him.
So, it depends upon who you are competing against, how hard they are working and how their content smells.
(I am not touching that first question... some people would say that they are paid links and even if they are not considered paid links those blogs could be into other types of manipulation. Be careful and realize the potential risks.)

Will these pages harm the SEO of my blog?
Hi there, If I put download pages and thank you pages on my blog, will it harm the SEO rankings? As these pages will be pretty thin and will have no links to them internally for obvious reasons, it has me concerned about the effect it could have on my blog. Blog Co-Op - Purchasing Links in Relevant Blogs
Hello, Our SEO company has recommended participating in a blog co-op, where we can purchase a link on a relevant blog, either submitting our own content or letting them find relevant anchor text in an article on their site and adding a link back to us. Links are running $40 - 100 based on Page Rank of the blog. I realize that it is BETTER not to buy a link, but is this going to hurt us if the blog content is relevant to our industry?

Does posting on blogs with anchored backlinks do you any good?
My current strategy: I am ranking for keyword and site: Immigration Consultant I access the Fresh Web Explorer and search my keyword, then find the blogposts with High Authority where I can post using HTML and include my link in my signature, or sometimes the post has a link associated with the username. Now my question is this, does this count? will google even crawl the comments? can I aid the crawling process somehow? Any advice on creating relavent back-links is much appreciated. Thank you

Multiple guest posts from one site have any effect on rankings?
I have started guest blogging and have sites asking me for more content. I understand that regular guest blogging is great for building authority as an author and has the potential to get more links through word of mouth and other sites linking to me. The more posts I do the more exposure I get. But if I have say 3 or 4 posts on an external site with each linking to my site (to a different url and with different anchor text) does that have any effect on rankings as all links come from the same domain? As I understand it links from different root domains are what matters. Presumably a site with links from 5 different sites with 10 links on each external domain totalling 50 links wouldn't rank as well as a site with links from 50 different domains (1 per domain)?

Host a wordpress blog as a folder or external site?
I've been speaking to our developers as I want to introduce a blog. My intention is to host the blog as part of our existing site, so the url becomes www.example.com/blog I have a personal wordpress blog and I love it, the amount of plugins, themes and ease of use makes it a fantastic platform. I spoke to my developers and requested if they could install Wordpress within a folder of our existing website. This gives me control to do plugins, custom themes etc. Straight forward I thought, but I didn't get a straight forward reply. They went on that it would require two linux php servers, a load balancer between them, and set up and configuration would take 5 days. Their day rates are high, so 5 days is a lot of money. This got me thinking, what if I hosted it externally and linked from our website, so the blog URL would be www.myblog.com This gives me the power to have a wordpress blog for cheap and use all the fantasic plugins to optimise the site (Yoast, Schema plugins etc). I know for SEO, it's better to host it as part of your existing site, the ranking juice remains in your area and it further helps strengthen the site. But then i'm thinking, if the wordpress stand alone blog works out, it will end up being a great external linker, further boosting my existing site's presense. Have any of you faced any similar problems? Thoughts?

Best Anchor Text Practices Post Penguin Panda
my question is what are the best practices Post Penguin and Panda for anchor texts? I have heard info about using brand names, and not having duplicate anchor texts. But i'm confused; if its best to have brand names then likely it will end up being duplicate. Also is having no anchor bad? I have also heard that it is best just to use the website URL. It would be great if someone could clear this up for me thanks.

What is the Optimal Guest Post Byline?
Hi Moz Community! What do you think is the optimal guest post byline or bio paragraph at the end of a guest post. Is it better to link to your homepage with your site name as anchor text AND a deep page with a target keyword phrase? Or is it better to just use one link to a deep/money page on your site with a keyword phrase?
