Thanks for your prompt reply. I am going to follow which you have suggested and let you know status about it very soon.

Dont delete your fanpage if you havent already snatched an alias!
Its a better way to do it:
- Set up a new personal (you as a person) facebook profile
- Set your new profile as an admin for your fan page.
- Delete your company profile
- Acquire your fan page domain name
That should do it for you, it might take an hour or two before the name is available for you.

The Rules Of A Facebook Group
Hi there, I'm currently looking to set up a Facebook Group for an Education Recruitment Business I am working with. We're setting up the Facebook group to foster a sense of community and collaboration with our current teachers. I'm currently in the process of drawing up a list of rules and regulations for our first group. The obvious ones are there such as no profanity, no spamming (can't stand spam - especially those fake Ray Ban ads!) but there I would really love some other group rule suggestions especially when it comes to users promoting our competition as education recruitment is a very competitive sector. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks, James Miller - Digital Marketing Executive

Connecting a Google Places & Google+ Account?
Does anybody know how to connect Google Places to Google+? When my company name is searched in Google, the Google+ page appears on the right hand side like it should. However, under the meta description of the first search result there a link saying 'Google+ page' which links to a Google Places Local account. Does anyone know how this can be sorted?

Running a contest to increase Facebook Likes
I recently read about a well known company giving away a large prize and offering anyone a chance to win by Liking their Facebook Page. Has there been any statements provided by Google on how they view the attempt to increase Facebook Likes through contests. Or if they have not revealed anything, what do you think Google's approach would be based on their history?

Facebook Places & Business Pages - Any way to consolidate
Hello, I've read multiple posts on this, and the new timeline layout rolling out for business pages..but I haven't seen an update to this issue. My company has a retail store and an online store. Because of this, we had to create a places page and a regular business page. When people "check-in" via Facebook, the check-in goes to the places page. But our main marketing efforts and large fan base are at the business page. Facebook used to allow you to combine these. In a perfect world, all would live on one business page. Has anyone heard an update on this feature? Thanks either way.

Multiple twitter accounts for Different countries...
Ok, so we currently operate in the UK, Australia, Ireland, Spain and France. Currently we have a different twitter accounts for each Country. This can be difficult to manage as we are going it all from the UK. I can understand that having separate accounts for foreign language countries is perhaps suitable (we have foreign staff tweeting in their native tongue), but my question is this: Is it worth just tweeting all English speaking activity from one account. I mean at the end of the day we are one company, and also our activity in other countries won't effect our followers, in fact wouldn't it just make them realise we are a global brand? What are the advantages and disadvantages of gradually deleting the other accounts and tweeting all English stuff from the one account? Cheers,

Let's talk about Facebook Comments!
Have you seen Jen's post on the SEO Blog today about Facebook? I am really interested in testing out Facebook comments. Are any of you guys using them? Here are my thoughts: Benefits: Will make it easy for people to comment (assuming they have a facebook account) Their comments are shared on their wall and on their friends' news feeds so you could potentially get a LOT of exposure and traffic. Potential Drawbacks: Who controls the content? If facebook decides to pull this feature will we lose all of our comments? What is the moderation like? Do I get to approve which comments are posted? Some people may be reluctant to comment if they know that their friends are going to see what they wrote. What do you guys think? Are you going to use FB comments?

This is a followup to a Q&A posted by fideaux64 taking it from speculative to practical level. Question: Can a popular social profile page outrank an exact match branded domain. Domain: http://erasethethought.com/ Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Erase-The-Thought/111096868913182 Myspace: http://www.myspace.com/erase_the_thought Results: http://www.google.com.au/search?q=erase%20the%20thought This experiment is currently in progress. You're welcome to comment and participate. Note: Please do not link to the main domain - only Facebook or Myspace.
