Is this new? Anchors showing in Serps.
-
I was checking out a keyword today and I noticed several listings on Google that had a line underneath that said, "Jump to keyword". The "keyword" was an href name anchor on the page.
Is this new? Should we be including more anchors on our pages now? It makes sense as it helps the reader to navigate the page.
Here is a photo of an example:

It's not new. You can read some more information about when it first was reported in late 2008 over at Search Engine Roundtable. http://www.seroundtable.com/archives/018996.html.

Hi, I have seen this happen for quite a while on Google I remember mid last year I was first sent an email about this change where direct anchor texts are show on pages.
In my opionion it is Googles way of showing users that this specific term is of high importance, this can be due to the factors:
1. The website has many anchor text links with this specific term.
2. The internal link sctructre has many links using this term.
3. Users come to your website using this specific term, so Google shows relevence.
4. It could even be by a in correct re direct showing to this page from a keyword rich term that has the same anchor.
In the end of the day it is Googles way of showing users what they want.
It is like how you have Google auto over riding your title tags to show new terms.

Last year Google made 400 changes to their algorithms. No reasons to suspect they wont do the same this year.
I had not noticed that feature before now. I checked the page and "natural treatments" is anchor text used on the page.
I also tried searching "thunderstorm phobia" and the results did not include the "Jump to Natural Treatments" text. When I tried searching for "natural treatments thunderstorm phobia" then it appeared.
I had not ever noticed the feature before now. I am not sure how it will impact CTR but it does appear interesting.

We recently updated a large guide that takes the place of the original. The original has some nice organic traffic to it and I don't want to risk losing it. Should I 301 redirect to the new version, or update all the info directly on the original page?
We don't have a lot of content that garners much non-branded organic, so this is something I don't want to risk losing. We do not have a whole lot of external links into the page either.

Crawl Report shows Internal links as zero
We have recently updated our website (https://www.payumoney.com/) and created new pages like "https://www.payumoney.com/free-payment-gateway-India.html". we have internally linked all the pages, but when I check the crawl report from MOZ it shows internal links as 0 and these pages have the PA of 1 and not increasing. I am unable to find out the reason why is it happening?

Hi - How do you get rid of duplicate content that was accidentally created on a tag url? For example, when I published a new article, the content was duplicated on: /posts/tag/lead-generation/
the original article was created with: /posts/shippers-looking-for-freight-brokers/ How can I fix this so a new URL is not created every time I add a tag to a new posting?

Is it better to try and boost an old page that ranks on page #5 or create a better new page
Hello Everyone, We have been looking into our placements recently and see that one of our blog posts shows on page #5 for a popular keyword phrase with a lot of search volume. Lets say the keyword is "couples fitness ideas" We show on page 5 for a post /couples-fitness-ideas-19-tips-and-expert-advice/ We want to try and get on the first page for that phrase and wanted to know if it is better if we did one of the following: 1. Create a new page with over 100 ideas with a few more thousands of words. with a new url (thinking /couples-fitness-ideas) 2. Create a new page with a new url (thinking /couples-fitness-ideas) with the same content as the currently ranking post. We would want to do this for more freedom with layout and design of the page rather than our current blog post template. Add more content, let's say 100 more ideas. Then forward the old URL to the new one with a 301 redirect. 3. Add more content to the existing post without changing the layout and change the URL. Look forward to your thoughts

New jobboard: Can redirecting folder (site.com/jobboard) to subdomain (jobboard.site.com) hurt SEO?
Hi there, I'm planning to implement a jobboard on my website which needs to be installed on a subdomain (jobboard.site.com) but I'd really like to use site.com/jobboard for promoting this jobboard (jobboard collects external industry jobs). Are there any possible disadvantages when I set up a 301 redirect from jobboard.site.com to site.com/jobboard? Also: What if I want to move this jobboard to a unique domain one day (e.g. jobboard-industry-xy.com), Would that be tricky (as I'd basically have to redirect the folder-to-subdomain redirect to an external domain and therefore get a folder-to-subdomain-to-external-domain redirect...)? Cheers, Thomas

Do anchor links pointing to bottom/top of page count as link?
As the title says: Do anchor links pointing to bottom/top of page count as link? This page: http://www.betxpert.com/forum/bookmakere/vis/ladbrokes-kommentar I has over 300 links, but I don't see that many links. Is it the "#15" and the top/bottom of page anchors that count? Is this harmful in terms of link juice? -Rasmus
