Duplicate content on my home
-
Hello,
I have duplication with my home page.
It comes in two versions of the languages: French and English.
You should know that the home page are not directories : http://www.numeridanse.tv/
Google indexes the three versions: http://bit.ly/oqKT0H
To avoid duplicating what is the best solution?
Have a version of the default language? Thanks a lot for your answers.
Take care.

Thank you for your answer. But do not you think that having the same content and between http://www.numeridanse.tv/http://www.numeridanse.tv/fr/ or http://www.numeridanse.tv/ andhttp: / / www.numeridanse.tv/en/, I can have some duplicate content?
I know I can declare in Google Webmaster Tools, but you thinkthis may be enough for Google?
Regards
A.

Hi,
To be honest with you I do not think it will be a problem, I have dealt with one website where we have sub folders with 10 various languages.
If the sites currently rank in both markets it should also be ok imo.
Have you also set up sub folder GEO targeting in Google webmaster tools too?
Regards,
James.

Query Strings causing Duplicate Content
I am working with a client that has multiple locations across the nation, and they recently merged all of the location sites into one site. To allow the lead capture forms to pre-populate the locations, they are using the query string /?location=cityname on every page. EXAMPLE - www.example.com/product www.example.com/product/?location=nashville www.example.com/product/?location=chicago There are thirty locations across the nation, so, every page x 30 is being flagged as duplicate content... at least in the crawl through MOZ. Does using that query string actually cause a duplicate content problem?

GWT Duplicate Content and Canonical Tag - Annoying
Hello everyone! I run an e-commerce site and I had some problems with duplicate meta descriptions for product pages. I implemented the rel=canonical in order to address this problem, but after more than a week the number of errors showing in google webmaster tools hasn't changed and the site has been crawled already three times since I put the rel canonical. I didn't change any description as each error regards a set of pages that are identical, same products, same descriptions just different length/colour. I am pretty sure the rel=canonical has been implemented correctly so I can't understand why I still have these errors coming up. Any suggestions? Cheers

Duplicate content - Quickest way to recover?
We've recently been approached by a new client who's had a 60%+ drop in organic traffic. One of the major issues we found was around 60k+ pages of content duplicated across 3 seperate domains. After much discussion and negotiation with them; we 301'd all the pages across to the best domain but traffic is increasing very slowly. Given that the old sites are 60k+ pages each and don't get crawled very often, is it best to notify the domain change through Google Webmaster Tools to try and give Google a 'nudge' to deindex the old pages and hopefully recover from the traffic loss as quickly and as much as possible?
