UK link building companies?
-
Has anyone had any experience working with any? Are there any you'd particularly recommend/avoid?
Thanks.

That's what I'm after ideally, a company we can work alongside. Rand recommended Link Fish Media (a US company) who do offer this, but they're too busy to take on a lot of new business at the moment.

There are a lot of 'poor' link building companies in the UK, and everywhere else really. I am sure there will be a good one in your region though, just make sure you ask for open / transparent reporting i.e. they can show you the submissions and links they have done on your behalf - this is a good way to weed out some of the poorer companies who always make excuses at this point.

Will editorial links with UTM parameters marked as utm_source=affiliate still pass link juice?
Occasionally some of our clients receive editorial mentions and links in which the author adds utm parameters to the outbound links on their blog. The links are always natural, never compensated, and followed. Â However, they are sometimes listed as utm_source=affiliate even thought we have no existing affiliate relationship with the author. Â My practice has been to ask the author to add a rel="norewrite" attribute to the link to remove any trace of the word affiliate. I have read that utm parameters do not affect link juice transfer, however, given the inaccurate "affiliate" source, I wouldn't want Google to misunderstand and think that we are compensating people for followed editorial links. Should I continue following this practice, or is it fine to leave these links as they are? Thanks!

Time to Separate Company Websites or Keep it on One Domain?
Hey Everyone! I am completely stumped with what I should do for the scenario I find myself in… I’m hoping with your experience, you could guide me into the right direction. Let’s say our current website is Brown.com (Brown Group Inc.). We have a splash page, which links to two subfolders Brown Minerals (Brown.com/Minerals) and Brown Pet Products (Brown.com/Pet). Both of these are separate companies but owned by Brown Group Inc. Each company specializes in different industries, sell different products, have different customers and have different marketing. The only common thing the two companies have is the brand name “Brown” and owned by the same person. Brown Group Inc.

(Brown.com) Brown Minerals
(Brown.com/Minerals) Brown Pet Products
(Brown.com/Pet) I work specifically for Brown Minerals. It is my job to develop a new website, build traffic to our website, improve our SEO rankings and to build the Brown Minerals online brand. I am afraid that the work I will be putting into building our online brand may not be as effective since we share the same domain name with Brown Pet Products, which their website is outdated, they have their own traffic, links, etc. specifically for their products & industry. My question is, should we keep both websites in subfolders on the existing domain name or should we separate the websites and put them on their own domain names (BrownMinerals.com and BrownPetProducts.com)? Thank you0 -
SEO Guidelines for Partner Links
We decided to follow an aggressive strategy with cross linking. We have cross linked all all the 6 different brands just above the header of a News Portal. You could see what i mean here www.in.gr

Do you think that i should enable the nofollow so as not to get penalized by Google. We tend to use the same cross network linking scheme (in the header) for all branded sites. Google’s guidance on link schemes doesn’t specifically address these types of partner links, which don’t really fit the mold for “excessive link exchanging.” Thoughts appreciated.0 -
Anyone used an SEO company they are happy with and would recommend to others?
I have been researching SEO companies. Some are not willing to provide references, while others have references with lukewarm recommendations. Any e-commerce owners/managers here that have used an SEO company that they would recommend? I am about to give up and stick to doing it in-house!

Why is Bing Showing Insurance Ads For Link Building Searches?
I keep seeing multiple (2-3 per search) car insurance ads when I search for "link building" on Bing. I made a blog post that shows a screenshot and has more details. I'm not aware of any retargeting or other targeting options Bing offers that would show nonrelevant ads on a search like this. Or is there such a feature that I don't know about? My best theories are that it is a bug, or that Bing is testing something new. Any ideas?

Setting up a Company Blog - Subdomain or new URL?
I've just got hold of a client without a blog (a blog is very marketable for their industry especially!). But run into the dilemma - Is it better to set up a new domain ("clientblog.com") with separate hosting or create a subdomain ("blog.clienturl.com")? Has anyone ever done a study on this and which is most beneficial? Most importantly has anyone had success with either? Thanks!
