Building Widgets...
-
Hi all,
For a project I'm working on there will be an opportunity to have a number of websites link back to our main site. Rather than giving out a straight forward link text I'm more interested in building and handing out some kind of widget which is topical to both us and the websites giving us links.
Although I do a fair bit of web development with various technologies I have never played around with building widgets as such which can pull in data feeds from our database etc...
Does anyone have any good recommendations of tutorials covering this area or alternatively any companies offering this kind of widget building service.
Thanks in advance,
Darren

Deep linking with redirects & building SEO
Hi there. I'm using deep linking with unique URL's that redirect to our website homepage or app (depending on whether the user accesses the link from an iphone or computer) as a way to track attribution and purchases. I'm wondering whether using links that redirect negatively affects our SEO? Is the homepage still building SEO rank despite the redirects? I appreciate your time & thanks for your help.

Link building… how to get high rewarding links?
Hi Guys, I have a few people whom I have built relationships up in my industry with that would like to link to my site. Is there any particular things I need to be mindful of before having them link to me? I'm just mindful of the unknown. Also, which links to use etc? Thanks in advance

Link Building And Anchor Text Placement
Hi everyone, I can't seem to find a concrete answer on how anchor text is going, so I'm hoping you all can shed some light on it. We were asked to do a few guest blog posts, and I wanted to figure out what's the most effective way to use the backlinks. Granted, I know user experience is most important, but since we have control over the topic, I can tailor it so that won't be a problem. Other than user experience, how should I approach it? Things I'm considering: 1. Should I use branded text or keyword text? Kemp & Ruge Law Group vs car accident attorney? I've seen some reports of exact match anchor text causing some penalties, but I'm thinking that's for like thousands of links. We barely have any. 2. Should we point the links to our homepage to help our domain authority or to the page with the keyword phrase we want to rank higher? Thanks, Ruben

Citation Building + Citations in Text
Hi, One curiosity led to another and hence I have a couple of questions which I am not sure if they are related or not. 1. What is citation building, what value does it have and what is the best way to go about it? The above question came up whilst trying to find information for my next question. 2. Do 'citation' HTML attributes in the text content of my web pages have any value for SEO. These citations are where you highlight a word and then add a kind of alt text tag to it that appears when you hover your mouse over the relevant text. The HTML for it looks like this. <cite title="is a reference to a published or unpublished source">Citation</cite> 3. Should I be using 'title' attributes rather than 'citation' attributes? Thanks

Daily Link Building tactics to move the needle
I know most of you may frown upon this question, but to those of you who are still going after blog commenting, forum posting, Q&A sites (even if that means you're getting nofollow links), do you have any recommendations on a guide/blog post that describes how to create a daily "low level" link building program to supplement the higher level, relationship dependent link building that you're already doing? Thanks in advance!

How fast is too fast in building quality links?
So I'm working on a brand new project, and want to go after my competition rather aggressively. I have a long list of industry resources, including blogs, articles and directories, and several news/media/press release type sites that I could have link to me in a very short amount of time. How fast is too fast? Is there a penalty for getting links too fast if they are all legit?

Link building maximum to different sub domains?
Hi All, I'm launching a new website with a number of country specific sub-domains and I wanted to know if Google will calculate the number of new links as a root domain or if it will treat each subdomain seperately? For instance if I built 50 links per month to each of my five proposed subdomains would google see it as 250 links built to one root domain(and penalise me as a result) or will they view these subdomains independantly and accept these 50 links per page as an acceptable amount per sub domain. Thanks in advance. Ross
