Good link networks?
-
Hey Mozzers, quick question about link networks. I've identified quite a few, like these:
Build My Rank
Unique Article Wizard
Authority Link Network
Article Ranks
EZ Article Link
Socialadr
Linkvana
SEO LinkVine
Does anyone have experience using any of these? The basic premise is they own or their members own tons of different blogs. You write an article, give it to them, they publish it one one of those blogs. You include a link in your article. Done.
They charge a monthly fee to use and all that, so is it worth it? Anyone had any success with them? Finding mixed things on forums online, and since many of their websites like awfully spammy, wanted to poll the Mozzers and get your thoughts.

I couldn't agree more, Steve.
I tried about 4 different of these networks and the success was only temporary. It would be absurd to think that Google doesn't have a full time employee whose only job is to discover those networks!
I don't even touch spinning any more. It continuously becomes less effective. Instead of dealing with those tactics, I would rather spend my time making a quick video and posting it to a couple of video sites, then embedding it on a new post.
I'm keeping my money out of those networks.

Hehe, I think you might be preaching to the choir there a little

Hi Daniel,
When dealing with those type of networks, you will find that the work involved is both laborious, unrelenting, and in most cases fruitless.
You will achieve a much higher ROI by contributing quality content to both your site as well as other sites around the web.
The key is to generate content worthy of being shared by others.
I hope this helps to steer you in the right direction.

I used to use half of them before I started spending more time on here and edging away from that stuff a year or two back, and honestly they did used to work but they really don't anymore. You have to spin content if you want anything out of them, LinkVine was the best of the bunch but their effect went down and down. I have friends that are still a little darkside lol, My understanding is that they're of even less worth now, once Panda hit... well, from what they say you might as well just go out and comment spam for all the good it'll do you.

Before looking into these sites even further, I would say that they're probably not worth it. Do they work? That's a whole different story. Based on the first site alone, "Build My Rank", I would already be questionable about pursuing anything through the site.
Step 2 from their "How It Works" page states, "We publish your article randomly on 1 of our high page rank, aged domains."
I would have so many questions like, "We publish your article randomly"? I'm sure you want to know exactly where your content is being published and the stats of the domain it's being published on. I'd hate to find out content that I wrote is being "randomly" posted on irrelevant domains just because of their PR and age.
I feel that if you're going to utilize a link building service, find one where you get approval of link prospects and targets before submission. There should be 100% transparency in what you're trying to accomplish, especially fro your own piece of mind and your clients best interests. Otherwise, build links your own way and honestly.

Link Espionage?
Can anyone tell why pages like this are linking to our site? http://iga.edu/facebooktabs/images/inscribirse/formulario/en/noclosingcost.html This .edu page looks benign, however if you read it, it wont take long to see what appears to be machine generated content related to finance. It has ONLY ONE outgoing link and it to my site. To me it seems to be an attempt to make us look like a link buyer. We aren't! There are dozens of these type of pages linking to us. One of a competition sites known to us has published 90 press releases of all upcoming car models with PRWEB, PR7, DA 97 in last 4 months. All with different anchor based keywords and links. The page authority too is very high in some of them around 70 Though they might have had spent a sum, does this really influence from SEO perspective. If yes, can 10 press releases with PR Newswire which has PR8 and DA as 95 can be good if we consider doing this with all unique anchor text & links

Are there tools out there to determine when a link linked to your site? I want to know when a link farm was done a site.
In Webmaster Tools I discovered that a client of mine with signed up for or hired another company to get links. The links are poor quality and from other countries, so it looks like a link farm was done. I want to know when they links were linked to the site, and not sure how to find that information out. Does anyone know how to find this out?
