Learning link building

I want to learn from one of the best how to do real link building. I currently outsource this and just aren't sure if they're that good or not. Can you please let me know if Rand is doing any training or presentations on this in L.A or California this year? And if not him maybe someone else you can recommend who's good.

Be careful with outsourcing link building, but as far as it goes find websites or blogs that more or less on the same keyword. Try to negotiate with them about the link, maybe they will want to write about some of your products for free just because they like it. Check out the link I got.

Completely seriously, spend time exploring SEOmoz.org. Almost everything you can / should know about link building is available somewhere on the site.
I spend a lot time following people/sites on link building and IMHO there really isn't a clearly better resource.

Is RU white hat link building possible?
According to my RU content/SEO person all the major websites/blogs in RU asked for payment to post an article... and there is no advice in RU/Yandex for implementing white hat methods. I work for a gaming company, so trying white hat is difficult in any country.... but still seems worth trying. Does anyone have experience or advice about RU link building?

Link building via Rafflecopter
I received an invite from a company to enter a contest for a chance to win a prize. The contest is run by Rafflecopter. Rafflecopter looks interesting because you can place the contest anywhere including social sites and your own website. Contestants can increase the chances of winning in various ways such as an FB like, tweet, etc. The largest number of points (for this particular contest) are awarded for linking from your website to their website. Given that the contestant must add the link to their website and the sponsoring company can not control whether they use nofollow, couldn't this contest approach to link building cause problems for SEO? If the contest included instructions to copy and paste the html with a nofollow, that would seem like a better solution, but the only guidance given was to link to their home page. Your thoughts? Suggestions needed on link building campaign...
Getting links has become very difficult task for me. Recently i have started a website on Depression and Anxiety. My campaign steps: 1)Hired a doctor to write stuff on my website. 2)After that we did 100 more articles for article marketing. 3)Submitted content to top article directories.. All links to only 1 anchor (domainname.com). I haven't promoted my domain with main anchor anywhere. DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO 😞 Can anyone suggest me some link building methods so that i can do Good SEO for my new site?

Are the following considered bad links for Link Building.
I've been doing a lot of research lately on link building & I've read a lot about having a diverse amount of links. Social links, Blog links, comment links, footer links, No follow links, Directory links as well as links with Anchor text URL match, brand match, partial brand match, non-descriptive, and with keywords. But there is a lot of talk of removing those links that look like a site that's built just for link building purposes.... but Directories are basically built for link building are they not? I'm wondering if anyone can tell me if they feel links from the following directories would be bad links. Selling link building - Show me the money !
Week after week we get enquiries for Link building services. Time and time again we are losing out on contracts and deals... My stance - We work on your site for a period of time doing link building so 2 days in the month a link building member will research competitors , yadi , yadi, ya 🙂 You get the picture right... But the customers are being told by less scrupulous companies the numbers of links they will receive. Impossible unless you are buying them right ? So it reaches that point when you start questioning being 100% honest... What advice would you give me on selling link building services...
