Google / Wordtracker Alternitives

Hi,
I usually use Wordtracker for my keyword research but was wondering if anyone had any other suggestions other than Google, or a company that just serves up Google's results.
Thanks

We've been pretty pleased with Wordstream. KeywordDiscovery.com is a decent alternative as well. The real question is what type of keyword research are you doing?
Are you researching keywords for expensive link targeting, where getting search volume and competitiveness accurate are very important? If so, I'd stick with Google's results or Wordstream.
Are you researching keywords for blanket content creation? You probably want a bigger keyword database like KeywordDiscovery.com
Depends on your needs, I suppose.

Google Planner monthly keyword search vol. vs SEMRush
Hi, This is an example but if I enter 'architect This is an example but the same thing happens with most keywords - if I enter 'architect cornwall' into Google Planner it tells me there's 90 searches per month. If I enter this into SEMRUSH it tells me there's 320 searches per month. Can anyone explain the difference here - and is one more accurate than the other? Better still is there tool that's more accurate than either of these? I'm completely new to this by the way and the answer is probably obvious. Thanks!

Remove poor performing pages, or leave for google?
Hi - we have a few old pages on our site which were created for SEO purposes a long time ago. They are pretty poor pages and we are rewriting them. However some are no longer relevant. We score "F" on those pages and I imagine google won't like them. Should we delete the page and redirect nicely to the home page, or leave the page there, but remove it from our site? What is best practice for removing old content? Many thanks

What does it mean when two keywords in Google's Keyword Research Tool have exactly the same amount of searches?
The two keywords are [publicity] and [product placement] (both in exact search - not broad) and have 22,200 searches each. Is it purely coincidental or are the two keywords kind of related in Google's eyes and that's why we're seeing the same amount of searches for each?

Best Keyword Research Tool / Strategy / Approach?
Currently, I list every root word (one word) I can think of for the client. Then start a 2 word keyword section, making every possible connection with my root words. Then move to 3 word, 4 word, and so on. I do this all in a word document and by hand. Does anybody have ANYTHING (tool/strategy) that does something similar? I'm looking for anything that can expedite this process. My manual method makes me feel like I'm always forgetting certain combinations of words.
