Page load speed?
-
Hi everyone, hope you've all had a good new years celebration.
Just a quick one on page load speed? how important do you think it is to organic rankings, especially on competitive terms?
Any tips on improving it? do i need to improve just the landing page im trying to rank or every page as its looked at as a qualtiy score as a whole?
Kind Regards,

Page and site load speed/time is a factor as Matt has said in the past. It's beginning to take more effective value in the 'user experience' which Google is trumpeting in past months.
I would surely aim to analyze and look over the data you need to see the value in taking the time to start correcting issues with regards to your site speed and load times.
Yslow is a great tool for sure, but you can also download a chrome AP called 'SEO Site Tools', which has some great features to determine things like this. I would also look to incorporate Gzip into your site for compression.
You might also want to look at the file size of the homepage. If it exceeds 30kb, it's probably too large, and taking more time than needed to call the HTTP requests for various CSS, JS scripts, images, etc..
Just some more things too look at Cheers.

According to Matt Cutts page load speed is not as important as a ranking factor as one may think.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B3zmP0W26M0 old video, there is a newer one from 2011 which i cannot find
Regarding the usefulness of page load speed: I heard about tests run by amazon and google that more or less lead to the conclusion that 1% faster meant 1% more revenue (to be taken with a grain of salt). But it is obvious that really fast pages produce more pageviews (and ultimately more ad-revenue etc.) and also increasing your sites user metrics (time on site, avg PI ...).
Some tips: go over every element and ask yourself whether you really need that element.
As Robert stated I would aim for a average page on an average domain to load between 1,5s and 2s.
Good ressources are:

I think if the page is "slow" it will have a negative effect if for no other reason than some people will not wait for it to load. The question is, what is slow? For me, I like a page to load within two seconds or less. This is certainly not fast, but I don't think it is slow in terms of the engines.
The biggest issues we see that effect page load speed are failure to use expires headers, too many http requests, etc. We use Yslow on any site to check for things we can speed up. It will tell you where the site is slow (Cause and solution) which makes it easy for anyone. YSlow is a free download and works on Chrome and FireFox for sure.

Page Speed or Site Speed which one does Google considered a ranking signal
I've read many threads online which proves that website speed is a ranking factor. There's a friend whose website scores 44 (slow metric score) on Google Pagespeed Insights. Despite that his website is slow, he outranks me on Google search results. It confuses me that I optimized my website for speed, but my competitor's slow site outperforms me. On Six9ja.com, I did amazing work by getting my target score which is 100 (fast metric score) on Google Pagespeed Insights. Coming to my Google search console tool, they have shown that some of my pages have average scores, while some have slow scores. Google search console tool proves me wrong that none of my pages are fast. Then where did the fast metrics went? Could it be because I added three Adsense Javascript code to all my blog posts? If so, that means that Adsense code is slowing website speed performance despite having an async tag. I tested my blog post speed and I understand that my page speed reduced by 48 due to the 3 Adsense javascript codes added to it. I got 62 (Average metric score). Now, my site speed is=100, then my page speed=62 Does this mean that Google considers page speed rather than site speed as a ranking factor? Pricing value pages
We have the main pricing page here: https://www.eginnovations.com/product/pricing Then depending on what you click, you'll be taken to the appropriate form on one of these pages: https://www.eginnovations.com/product/request-quote?pricetype=audit https://www.eginnovations.com/product/request-quote?pricetype=saas https://www.eginnovations.com/product/request-quote?pricetype=perpetual https://www.eginnovations.com/product/request-quote?pricetype=subscription How should I handle these? Noindex, follow? Set a canonical? I keep getting notifications that these are duplicate content, but it's just a way to keep the form fills organized. Thanks for your help!

Wrong page title in Google
Hi there, A while ago we took over the domain www.hoesjes.nl and forwarded it to our website www.telefoonhoesjesxl.nl. If you perform a search for the keyword 'hoesjes' in Google then we (www.telefoonhoesjesxl.nl) show up on an organic number 1 position. The problem is that the page title isn't correct. Google shows the page title of the website hoesjes.nl we took over and (correctly?) redirected to our domain www.telefoonhoesjesxl.nl. Does anybody have any idea how to get rid of this wrong page title in Google?

Website Speed
What are the top 10 ways to reduce page loading times and speed up a website?
Technical SEO | | casper4340 -
Have a client that migrated their site; went live with noindex/nofollow and for last two SEOMoz crawls only getting one page crawled. In contrast, G.A. is crawling all pages. Just wait?
Client site is 15 + pages. New site had noindex/nofollow removed prior to last two crawls.

Good Morning from 24 degrees C partly cloudy wetherby UK 🙂 This page is not being indexed by Google:
Technical SEO | | Nightwing
http://www.sandersonweatherall.co.uk/office-to-let-leeds/ 1st Question Ive checked robots txt file no problems, i'm in the midst of updating the xml sitemap (it had the old one in place). It only has one link from this page http://www.sandersonweatherall.co.uk/Site-Map/ So is the reason oits not being indexed just a simple case of lack if SEO juice from inbound links so the remedy lies in routing more inbound links to the offending page? 2nd question Is the quickest way to diagnose if a web address is not being indexed to cut and paste the url in the Google search box and if it doesnt return the page theres a problem? Thanks in advance, David0 -
Can I use canonical tags to merge property map pages and availability pages to their counterpart overview pages?
I have a property website, for each property are 4-5 tabs each with their own URL, these pages include the overview page which is content rich, and auxilliary pages such as maps, availability, can I use a canonical tag to merge the tabs with very little content to their corresponding overview page which is content rich? I.e. www.mywebsite.co.uk/property-1/overview This page has tabs for map, town info, availability which all have their own url i.e. www.mywebsite.co.uk/property-1/map

www.mywebsite.co.uk/property-1/availability
www.mywebsite.co.uk/property-1/towninfo Because these auxilary pages do not contain much content can I place a canonical tag in them pointing back to the content rich overview page at www.mywebsite.co.uk/property-1/overview?0
