Host suggestions?
-
I'm currently hosting with Hostgstor and was pleased with the service untl my site started to get big enough to run into problems. The unlimited bandwidth and unlimited disk space sounds attractive but they don't tell you that they throttle your database connections. Now that I have grown my site to the point where I am getting a few thousand visitors per day I am starting to have issues. I had an article get really popular and the server couldn't handle it. I'm looking for a host that will tolerate some spikes in traffic. (it's ok if I get charged more). I've heard good things about Pair hosting and I'll likely go with them but I thought I'd ask for a few more opinions first. Thanks!

I highly recommend NOT using GoDaddy, their service is okay if your lucky. The problem is that they max out all of their servers with as much clients as they can which can effect your performance if your on one of these. At least thats my experience with their shared options.
I would check out Site5 or Host Rocket if you want to get rid of Host Gator

I've liked TigerTech.net for some time, and that's where Search Engine Land, Matt Cutts, and others are hosted.

Thanks guys. I'm going to check all of these places out and make a decision soon.

I am using the Bluehost.com during 2 years and also I've suggested it to all my clients and so far I didn't get any negative feedback about it.
Also which hosting to choose it might be a very delicate problem and each user solve it randomly! Because each of us have different vision of ideal web hosting!
For you and many others who have this problem, I suggest you to go thought this website:
http://web-hosting-review.toptenreviews.com/
It has a big variety of sharing and dedicated web hosting with detailed review and features for each one.
Hope it will make sense for you.

Rackspace are also very pro. Not used them myself but heard good things about them too...

I actually went to Dreamhost who are a smaller company but serving some BIG customers. Many including myself migrated my 100+ domains to them having had enough of Hostgator. They don't use cPanel but have their own friendly but powerful interface which works well. Tech support is also much better than Hostgator (who I actually didnt find too bad).
From memory they offer a 30 day trial membership where you could check it out. And no Im not a rep or I'd have my affiliate link here. (you checked if that was a link didn't you?).
Hope this helps,
GZ

I know that Godaddy isn't the most popular among internet marketers, but I have always received great service from them. I have a virtual dedicated server with them. Works great. They are also supporting a cloud hosting option now.

Hi Marie
Have you considered **Rackspace **? They offer a range of hosting options and are at the higher end of web hosting. As such, they aren't cheap, though as you don't mind paying more, definitely worth looking into.
If they do turn out to be rather too costly, then check out GoDaddy who are less expensive though still provide a great hosting option, so long as the right hosting service is chosen.

Simon

Is there a way to host my website.com/BLOG URL PATH from a different host than my main website.com host?
Is there a way to host my website.com/BLOG URL PATH from a different host than my main website.com host? Is it accomplish-able with DNS settings or are there other considerations that might lead to complications doing this? Specifically, we are investigating install WordPress on a dedicated host, JUST to power the blog for our main website, but our main website is on an internal proprietary hosting and CMS. So basically we're trying to host: website.com --> OFF OF CURRENT INTERNAL HOSTING website.com/blog/ --> OFF OF THIRD PARTY HOSTING (USING WORDPRESS) I know this is a technical question beyond the scope of SEO, but I'm figuring there are members of the community that may have tried this already so I'm floating it here. Many thanks! Cheers.

Hosting a Company Blog
What is the best practice for hosting a company blog for an eCommerce website? As a subfolder or as a subdomain or a separate domain entirely? Or some other option? There are articles recommending each of these approaches, but it’s difficult to identify which is the most recently preferred approach.

Short title tag is more useful so if we just use our targeted keyword in home page title then is it useful.? for example my website: http://www.topnotchlawsuitloans.com/ i am targeting lawsuit loans keyword so if i use <title>TNF - Lawsuit Loans | Lawsuit Funding</title> is batter to use for main page or <title>Lawsuit Loans | Lawsuit Funding | As Low As 1% | PreSettlement Funding</title> can we have to use main targeting keyword on all webpage title tag ? my website have 200+ page and i have to use different title tag for that pages including targated keyword so if i am targeting lawsuit loans in that title, what is best to divide title pipe, hyphen or comma ? does capitalization in title tag wrong effect ? Lawsuit Loans - As low as 1% Lawsuit Loans | As low as 1% Lawsuit Loans, As low as 1% (or i have to use smaller cash in title) for all different page i want to place this kind of title is it best for SEO purpose Lawsuit Loans - Lawsuit Loans Fargo Lawsuit Loans - Lawsuit Loans Escondido Lawsuit Loans - Lawsuit Loans Erie Lawsuit Loans - Lawsuit Loans Flint Lawsuit Loans - Lawsuit Loans Fort Wayne Lawsuit Loans - Lawsuit Loans Fresno Lawsuit Loans - Lawsuit Loans Gainesville Lawsuit Loans - Lawsuit Loans Grand Rapids Lawsuit Loans - Lawsuit Loans Gilbert Lawsuit Loans - Lawsuit Loans Gresham Lawsuit Loans - Lawsuit Loans High Point Lawsuit Loans - Lawsuit Loans Hialeah Lawsuit Loans - Lawsuit Loans Huntsville if i am using this kind of different title for all page then it can effective for SEO or it will be come in keyword stuffing

IP and Hosting
Hello everyone, Wanted to know if anyone has any information, if a dedicated IP address for a website or having your site hosted on a virtual dedicated/dedicated server would have any impact on search engine rankings versus hosting a site on a shared hosting account or shared IP? Thank you all!!!

WordPress blog hosted on GoDaddy domain mapping help
We set up a WP blog that's hosted through GoDaddy. For various reasons, we purchased a URL to use to get through the technical build and set up and are trying to map that to a subdomain of our company website. (We can't host it on our own server, unfortunately). My question is: for WP blogs hosted via WP you can buy a domain mapping upgrade and I'm trying to find a similar plugin that could offer the same thing that would apply to our GoDaddy hosting and point to our subdomain (GD apparently doesn't offer the domain mapping). Anyone have any thoughts, please?

Hosting and Domains in the US
Hello, In the UK I have my domains hosted with a company and my hosting with another company. I can change the DNS so the domain works with the webhosting. Can this be setup in the USA in the same way or does the hosting and domain need to be with the same company? Thanks.
