Google website-links changing back and fourth
-
Thought I might ask you guys if you have ever seen anything similar, 'cause I sure haven't.
I have a client who stumbled across a problem with his website links. Google change them back and fourth. one day one of the links will be called "iPhone 4 accessories" and some weeks pass and then it changes to " 4 accessories". Weeks pass again and then the iphone is back.
First I thought to myself that Google might have expanded the AdWords filter to include website-links.. But then I remembered that they were ordered by the EU courts to size that practice.. so that can't be it. Plus allot of his competition doesn't seem to have the same problem.
I have checked everything, the links, title tags, page titles exc.. and I acn't realt find any reason why this should be happening to him and I must admit I have never seen anything similar.
Any hints and pointers would be most welcome

Honestly no.. and noone seems to know the answer (I ofcause havent tried to ask google). I have tried everyone from Search Engine Land, SEOmoz, webmaster forums, googles webmaster forums, other experts within the industry.. and noone seems to have any idea or have ever experienced it for that matter. What I wound up doing was:
1. make a new landing page for the subject and did a ton of link building paying close mind to the anvhor texts as always.
2. make a 301 redirect to the new page.
After some months the problem stopped.. I have however never found the reason for the problem. And no one seems to know the answer

Hi! Did you ever figure out why this was happening, or find a way to stop Google from doing this? I'm following up on older, unanswered questions in Q&A and wondering how this turned out. Thanks!

Hi LameMule,
Those site links are hard to control and really it's an automated process that Google uses to generate the title for those links. My suggestion is to make sure that all your internal linking is set the way you want it to display in your site link. My guess is that Google is coming across different versions of anchor text pointing internally to your page and then changing it based on that.

are you sure we are talking about the same thing here? I'm not talking about adwords, while you seem to be

These are the two states that Google changes between. one month it's correct next month it's all wrong and visa versa.

I might actually have a screeny back at the office, but i am out of town for the weekend, but I'll see if I can conjure one up when I get back to the office Monday
-
Have you got a screenshot of this?
I have heard from others where Google has changed results in the SERP's myself

iPhone 4 accessories, if you want to keep how it is you must choose and the exact match to keyword there are 3 types
iPhone 4 accessories
"iPhone 4 accessories"
[iPhone 4 accessories]
Try this and it will not change anymore

Using Sub Domains For Back Linking
Hey Guys! I'm building links for my page and happened upon the "Hoth" link building page. I tried it out and it built some no follow links and some links on several sub domains. I know that, when back linking via guest posting, no follow links do not juice my site. My question is, does building links on a subdomain from another company juice my site? If it's not helpful, could you explain why? Does it juice my site in any way? If you could link sources, I would really appreciate it. Also, do any of you have input on Hoth or platforms like it? Are they worth it? Thank you!

How to properly change your website's address in Webmaster Tools?
Hi There,We've launched a new website and as part of the update have changed our domain name - now we need to tell Google of the changes: Both sites were verified in Webmaster Tools From the old site's gear icon, we chose "Change of address" As part of the "Change of address" checklist Google presented, we added 301 redirects to redirect the old domain to the new one But now that the 301 redirects are in place, Google can no longer verify the old site And because it can no longer verify the old site, Google won't let us complete the change of address form How do we tell Google of the change of address in this instance - and has anyone else encountered this?CheersBen

What changes do i need to make to my site to get into google news
Hi, when we had the old design, we were in google news but then when we upgraded our site, we had a major problem which forced us to have to redesign our site. Since then we have not been included in google news and we would like to get back in. We only want to be in google news for the following page http://www.in2town.co.uk/Latest-News-Headlines But for some reason, no matter what we do we keep getting knocked back. I would love to know what we should be doing to get into google news and see what the problems are. We have moved to a bigger dedicated server to increase speed so i know it is not that. Any help would be great Also is there an alternative to google news that i can get our site into to generate traffic and to get our news stories straight out to people Hi, Thank you for your note. How do I get rid of irrelevant back links pointing to missing pages on my site
Hi all, My site was hacked about a year ago and as a result I now have a ton of back links from irrelevant sites pointing to pages on my site that no longer exist. The followed back links section on the Competitive domain analysis tool shows about 3 pages worth of these horrible links. I have 2 questions: how bad is this for my site's SEO (which isn't good anyway, Page Rank 0) and how do I get rid of them? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, Andy WkXz0
