What's the best way to include a pdf in your post?

I have some posts where I'd like to include a downloadable pdf....what is the best way seo wise to do this?
I was thinking of just putting the file on my server and than just including a link to download it, but I'm thinking there's probably a better way.
Any thoughts?

I'm trying to do this, and I can't get it to work. When I upload the file to google docs I don't get a .pdf file..I get a odd string of numbers and I can view it, but when I embed it it doesn't load.
Like I said, the link doesn't look like the link on the google examples with the .pdf...I'm assuming you have to upload your file to google doc's first...then use the viewer to embed it right?
I think I'm missing something.

I don't have an SEO answer for you, but I can tell you that I've read embedded pdfs get read much more often than providing a link. Just make sure you have a way to track the interaction

Google Authorship for guest posts
I've set up google authorship on my site and my image appears in search result for posts.I run wordpress and my categories are also indexed but it doesn't show up for categories of posts? Is this possible? My other question though is that I do a lot of guest posting and want to get credit as a google author when I post on other people's sites. What code do I need to add at the end of guest posts so that I'm credited as the author via google authorship?

What is the Best Practice for External Links?
We are currently in the process of reviewing our site on a number of fronts, and part of that involves adding quality content to our product category pages where necessary. Our practice so far has been to add relevant content, and in this content externally link to a couple of relevant, related sites for that category (avoiding the use of keywords we are trying to rank for). Should we be doing this (externally linking)? And, if so, should these external links be NoFollow? So far, we have seen mixed results for our efforts.

Best practise for domain redirect
Hi guys. I have a client that has one main site, with the domain IMOWOOD.PT (Portugal), and then we have the domain IMOWOOD.COM (redirecting to .PT). The problem is (that i verify using site:imowood.com) in Google, apeears that the domain .COM have a lot of indexed pages! This will penalize the 2 pages right? Because the duplicated content (?). What i want to know is... if i have 1 domain (the one i want to be index) what should i do, to do a proper redirect from the .COM to the .PT, making the .COM not indexable? Right now the .COM only redirects @ index page. Dont know why... I've used the domain redirect @ my cPanel. So... whats the best practise for domain redirect? Thanks!
