Best way to create deep links - Building links to inner pages
-
I am looking for a cost effective way to rank 30 inner pages, which are all low competition, long tail keywords.
What type of links are the best for this type of project, social bookmarks, article marketing, high pr links, etc....
Also who would be good to hire for this type of project?

That's a pretty broad question, but two tactics that would work best, although by no means unknown, are internal linking and guest posting.
Internal linking is basic, yet so freakin effective. Everyone says you should, but few actually do it correctly. Hopefully you have a blog. When posting about anything, and I mean anything, tie in those pages to your conversation. Don't just randomly link to them, but make sure you steer the convo towards the topic of those pages so you can link naturally to them. (And yes, internal links work. One of my client's competitors is ranking #1 for a money term that ranks solely on internal links. Frustrating, yes, but more importantly, learn from it.)
Guest blogging is great in this instance because you're going for 30 different pages, which means you need multiple links from a single opportunity. In most guest posts you usually get at least two links in the bio, which you can use for any of those 30 pages, but like when doing internal linking on your blog, make sure you tie some of those pages into what you're writing about in the bulk of your post. For example, if one of your pages has some great information on biking helmet X, and in your post you're talking about biking, make sure you start talking about the different options you have for helmets, and say that one of these options is helmet X (which you link to). The blogger won't have a problem with this because it's on topic & relevant.
Hope this helps! By no means is this comprehensive. You can go a number of directions, but since you're building links to a bulk number of pages, these two tactics would be the most efficient.

Link to page in SERP or page with good on-page optimisation
Hi, Some friends are happy to link to my site. As I am focusing on a particular search term is it best to have them link to the page that already appears in the SERP for that term or the one with better on page optimisation? Thanks Billy

Link Building - Post Penguin
Hi, We have an eCommerce site that has recently been hit for some unnatural linking, resulting in a warning in our Google Webmaster Tools account. We weren't doing anything particularly underhand (and indeed before Penguin there wasn't a cause for concern) but nevertheless Google has picked up and penalised us. We've instantly removed the worst offending links and requested a resubmission. If this doesn't result in positive action from Google we're planning on employing the services of an Oracle member on SEOmoz who was kind enough to give us some fantastic free advice in order to go through and remove any further links that may be seen as questionable. Moving forward however I'm a little bit overwhelmed as to exactly what we should be doing in order to create a positive, natural link portfolio. I understand the emphasis is on ‘natural’ linking but we’ve been online for 8 years and I think it’s fairly safe to say that the number of links we have now is probably representative of about our ‘lot’ when it comes to 100% natural links. It would be nice to give our portfolio a nice gentle push in the right direction. I’ve checked through SEOmoz and the most up to date link building article they have appears to be http://www.seomoz.org/beginners-guide-to-seo/growing-popularity-and-links - This guide however does seem to suggest some things that are potentially frowned upon now (for example, highly optimised anchor text I understand is now a no-no). Obviously, in days gone by I could look at Open Site Explorer to try to emulate my competitors but, to be honest, most of them have what I would describe as a fairly poor link profile and if I'm going to invest real time in to this I want to make sure I'm heading off in the right direction. Does anybody on here know of a really high quality post penguin link building guide, either on SEOmoz or elsewhere that I can use as some bedtime reading? Our website is eCommerce in nature so an article tailored towards online selling would be ideal. Thanks for reading! Chris

How to Earn Links to Boring Pages on Your Site
We do great in earning links to our homepage, articles, linkbait, and resource pages but we get few links to our product pages which are honestly pretty boring. Do you have any advice for increasing links to these important "money" pages? (we are trying to add useful content to make them less boring and unremarkable)

Contests For Link Building?
I have been seeing a trend that a lot of people are hosting contests with prices in the high end XXX $ or low end XXXX $ as the first price. Usually it's arranged via a number of sponsors and you'd have to link to all the sponsors using the keywords given. Some people provide a text file with everything pre formatted to make it easy. I have seen several sites paying 50$ to be part of a contest so that they can get some link juice from participating sites. Since the prize money is huge, many people will participate and will get lot of links. There was a person who built an entire business out of this (Not naming him. He's still doing the same thing but with a small twist). What's your take on such strategies? Don't you think it's high time Google caught these sort of "link schemes"?

I want to learn from one of the best how to do real link building. I currently outsource this and just aren't sure if they're that good or not. Can you please let me know if Rand is doing any training or presentations on this in L.A or California this year? And if not him maybe someone else you can recommend who's good. Thanks much.
