My question is simple.
How does a Mega Site like WikiHow does it link building ?
Just curios ... might learn a bit or two about SEO

For informational and educational websites like wikihow.com - links come naturally and easily as compared to other biz/ecom websites.
Wikihow has over 1,800 backlinks from Educational / university sites, and over 200 links from Government sites and that speaks a lot about their content. This is not to say that they can skip link building strategies, but it is just a lot easier to get links for such websites.
Mashable links to them: http://mashable.com/2009/02/18/how-to-guide/ , and so does Google: http://www.google.com/adplanner/static/top1000/
In short, the quantity and the quality of their content does the link building for them to a major extent.

Response rate in a linkbuilding campaign
Good afternoon, We will be starting our linkbuilding campaign in the next couple of days. Initially we will contact the authors of editorial content where our competitors are mentioned as one tool in a list of tools. We want the author to add us to the list as an additional tool. Linkbuilding to http/https
Hello, Last year we changed our domain name from http to https. In the .htaccess we included a 301 redirect from http to https. Nevertheless, some pages do not let you link to https, so for linkbuilding we sometimes need to use http://www.domain.ext in stead of https://www.domain.ext. Would this be a problem? I should expect with the 301 redirect that we don't have an issue here, but I would like to be sure. Although, I can make the site accessible without https too, but I don't think this is a good idea regarding duplicate content, is it? Thanks. Tom

Authority versus Content in Linkbuilding
Hi there, I am rather new to linkbuilding and reach out to various sites at the moment. The interest in linking to us is very high and now I sometimes get the question where on a particular page I'd like to be linked to from. I then do a check in opensiteexplorer to find out about the authority of the various subpages. Yet, how do I decide if one subpage has more authority while another one has more relevancy for us (in terms of the content being provided there being more related to ours)? Average time to see results after linkbuilding?
Hello everyone, I did some linkbuilding in the last few weeks, most of these links are already indexed by Google when i check their Google-cache. But i don't see any improvements in my own positions, despite my backlinks are really good. I'm now wondering, how long does it normally take to see position improvements after your linkbuilding? (Further the on page SEO is good and i'm regulary updating my website) Regards, Yannick
