Short Description, How Short?
-
I made a few changes in my site to show the products listing in List format instead of grid format, in format mode it was only showing the name, but in list mode it also shows a short description that I think should be benefical for SEO because it might require words related to the product itself.
The question is, how long is too much?
Please see example here

There's no obligation ... meta description is used in SERP as a link description, so it's better to have good, engaging ant attracting description - it will increase conversion from natural search (CTR).
So in the end it's worth to spend a while to create good, magnetic descriptions and in my opinion if you create such a text it can be used in both places. Remember to add a keyword to your meta description

short description and meta description should be the same?
-
Hi,
As I see your product short description is the not the same as meta description tag. Meta description is creating from "Product description" (product page).
For meta description rule is 140 characters not more than 160 - 170.
Usually people don't read a lot (sometimes nothing) they browse. So for your short description you should use general marketing rule - short, product features do not sell, values for the client are good for sells.
In my opinion your short description on http://www.theprinterdepo.com/canon-imageclass-lbp6000-new-discount-inside is good. Maybe you can modify a little bit e.g.:
"The best for any small business or home office user looking for quality laser output. Very quick first print and next 19 pages per minute! Excellent quality, easy to use, cheap exploitation."

Duplicated titles and meta descriptions
Hi, Dealing with both my duplicated titles and meta descriptions i'm wondering if there's a "quick" win I could potentially implement asap. A bit of background:

Say I've 4 pages structured that way: domain.com/us/productA.html for the US domain.com/gb/productA.html the UK domain.com/fr/productA.html for France domain.com/de/productA.html For Germany At the moment, both my page titles and meta-descriptions are duplicated all over the place for product A.
Title is reading "Product A - company name"
MD is a bit better, being translated in all 3 languages (En, Fr, DE). Therefore being the same for the US and for the UK. Ideally, I would get unique page titles and MD all over the place. However, due to time and resource constraints, I can't make it happen overnight. So my questions are pretty simple:
1. Can I create a rule for page titles to be "Product A - country - company name" or similar? Would that be enough to make the page titles unique? Is there any value doing so?
2. Can I "localize" duplicate MD by simply naming the country? I assume it is not enough in this case as all the rest would be copy/pasted. Ideally speaking, both my page titles and MD would be completely unique but I can't afford doing so in the short term. Thanks!0 -
My client is using a mobile template for their local pages and the Google search console is reporting thousands of duplicate titles/meta descriptions
So my client has 2000+ different store locations. Each location has the standard desktop location and my client opted for a corresponding mobile template for each location. Now the Google search console is reporting thousands of duplicate titles/meta descriptions. However this is only because the mobile template and desktop store pages are using the exact same title/meta description tag. Is Google penalizing my client for this? Would it be worth it to update the mobile template title/meta description tags?

Changes to title and description not appearing in Google search...
www.heatwavemedia.com Search terms: san francisco video production, san francisco video production services In Google search site appears as "Heartwave Media: San Francisco Video Production Services" but I'm sure I've never used a colon in all my iterations of the title... Instead it reads "San Francisco Video Production Services | Heartwave Media" with the description "A San Francisco video production company specializing in creative corporate and commercial video services." But that's not coming up either... I'm on Wordpress and am using All in One SEO if that helps... Thoughts?

Is possible to reutilize products description taken from mydomain.com in a ecommerce site?
My issue is related with cross-domain duplicate content. In the first domain (aaa.com) I have 30-40 products well described with lots of content (story, description, features, technical sheets etc). This is my primary, brand domain. I want to open an e-commerce in another domain (bbb.com) where I will sell all the products that reside in aaa.com domain. If I'm going to use the content (taken from aaa.com) for describing e-commerce products in the bbb.com domain could it be seen as duplicate content? What do you suggest? It would be a hell to rewrite all the products description and even worse, technical sheets and features/characteristics can't be written differently. Thanks in advace

Duplicate Title/Meta Descriptions
Hi I had some error messages in the webmaster account, stating I had duplicate title/meta descriptions. Ive since fixed it, typically how long does it take for a full crawl if Ive fixed these issues? Webmaster is still showing problems with various Title/Descriptions. Also was wondering if I should block individual pages on a large ecomerce site? EX of a Large site - http://www.stubhub.com/chicago-bears-tickets/ (Page is structure and optimized) Then you have all individual games http://www.stubhub.com/chicago-bears-tickets/bears-vs-lions-soldier-field-4077064/ they have an H1 and a meta description, should the page above be blocked from google and concentrate only on the Pain page? Thanks!

Best practice: unique meta descriptions on blog 'tag' pages
Hi everyone, I'm curious, are there best practices for introducing unique meta descriptions on blog tag pages (I'm using wordpress)? For instance, using platinum seo, on an original post, the meta description is either the excerpt or a specified custom sentence. It doesn't appear that platinum seo allows for custom descriptions on tag pages. Love to hear your thoughts. Thanks! Peter
