GA Regular Expression
-
Can anyone tell me how to do a regular expression in the new version of GA? I want to remove specific keywords from organic reports.
In the previous version of GA I used the following (phrase1|phrase2|phrase3) but that doesn't work anymore.

Thanks Craig...didn't see that!

Hi Omar,
The option is still there. Next the the search box that you used to put the RegEx in, click on the advanced tab and select "Exclude" , "Keyword" "matching RegEx"
See the attached image. I hope this helps.

Hi Omar,
Wow, missed this one. Quite weird that Google Analytics 'decided' to leave the Does not Match Regular Expression out of the new version for advanced segments. I know this is not the best solution. But while the old version is still available I would recommend to create an advanced segment in there. It will also be available in the new version.
Allright, Craig beat me on this ;-)! Missed the exclude for this one.

Connect AMP to the same website GA property or not
Hi, Asking this on behalf of a client:"I know Google recommends setting up a separate GA property for AMP which they note in a few places:https://developers.google.com/analytics/devguides/collection/amp-analytics/https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6343176?hl=en

From what we can tell this is because the tracking for AMP will measure things differently than the current analytics.js library. I also think it's related to the GA cookie and how it's set differently for AMP pages. But won't this cause drop-off in user journey information? For example, if a user views an AMP blog article but then clicks to our site from a link within the article. I think we would then track this as two separate users and the pages/visit would be off. I found this article which explains a tech way to connect AMP to the same website GA property but it seems a little too much of a work-around:https://www.simoahava.com/analytics/google-analytics-client-id-amp-pages/ Do you think we should just do what Google recommends and set up AMP as a separate property in GA?" --> Does anyone know if there could be any issues with this workaround?Thanks,0 -

Google Webmaster Tools During GA Transition?
I'm working with a client that is launching a new website. Google Webmaster Tools can just be disconnected, then reconnected to the new Google Analytics property, correct? Without any data loss in Webmaster Tools? Thanks! Becky

How to track subfolders in GA?
Is it possible to get the visitor statistics for a subfolder (example.com/blog/) in Google Analytics? I already have GA tracking set-up like normal, and visitors do get logged, but to see data only for /blog/ I have to go to Content > Site Content > All pages and search for "/blog/". Should I create a new profile in Google Analytics? Or is there a better way to only see stats for a subfolder?

GA advanced segments - for how much volume keywords are sending per month
I am trying to follow the advice in this whiteboard friday video http://www.seomoz.org/blog/how-big-is-your-long-tail-whiteboard-friday of grouping keywords based on volume of traffic they send each month e.g. 100+, 50-99, 10-49, <10. I'm probably being super dumb, but how do I do this with advanced segments in GA? Thanks.
