Date specific keywords, what to do for following year?!?
-
Hi,
Lets say I have a page with the keyword 'film releases 2012', I rank the term and it picks up some back links and social signals.
The year ends and search begins for 'film releases 2013'.
Do I:
1. Create a new page targeting 'film releases 2013' and redirect the old page to the new one.
2. Just have one page with the url .co.uk/film-releases/ and when the year ends for 2012 just change the 2012 to 2013 (title, h1 tags etc).
I'm 99% sure number 2 is the best option but the only negative is the url does not contain the year.
I could just have the 1 page with the date in the url and when it enters the new year change the url to contain the new date but that would break any backlinks, so I could redirect anyone trying to get to the old url to the new one which should pass the PR across.
But im guessing I would lose some PR in the process so maybe not having the date in the url would not effect SEO to much so rolling with number 2 is best bet.
Cheers

First off, make sure to keep the 2012 url. It has generated links that will benefit your site as a whole.
Secondly, I would create the 2013 page as soon as possible, and post the movies that are supposed to come out in 2013. Make sure to update every so often to keep it up to date. This will allow you to start generating links to the new url. This will then improve your site as a whole, and give you a step up for ranking high with the new page. If you find a movie estimated for a 2014 arrival, slap up another page.

How Many Keywords & How Will They Take to Rank?
Hi Guys Just taken on a new site with around 80 keywords with no links because the site is new. Each page is optimised correctly, very user friendly with completely unique content for each and every page. I'm interested to know what would be your online marketing "plan" for such site to begin ranking. Thanks Gary

Main keyword problem
Hello Since the latest Google update our main keyword has been dropping. We employed a SEO company about 6 weeks ago and since then the keyword has dropped a couple of pages further on Google. We have been using the Remove'em site to check our backlinks and a blog this SEO company have done has appeared on the list. The DA is good but the PA is low. In the blog they have linked the exact keyword to our site homepage. Do you think the blogs the SEO company are doing will be causing us more problems? Any help is very much appreciated. Thanks

Youtube no follow now! =( Any good PR Replacements?
Our youtube page was PR7 and passing on quite a bit of Pagerank to our site. I didn't think it turning nofollow would effect us much, but we've experienced a sitewide rankings drop on a newer ecommerce store. Anyone familiar with the youtube trick know of another good site for building Pagerank?

Need ideas to get do follow links from highly competative niche "wedding"
I need to get high quality do-follow links and my target market/keyword is ‘Maui wedding’ and a few others. Because it is such a competitive market I am having a hard time getting links from local companies providing Maui Weddings (I know why because they are my competitors) and national companies sites aren't much help because they are trying to provide leads to their advertisers. I would like do-follow links from non-paid sources any ideas or resources you could help with would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Which parameter does google value more: number of incoming links or on-page optimizations (meta data and keywords)?
I am just starting with the SEO and I have a client in the travel industry whose website is not ranked well on the search engines. After doing the seo audit we see that the website's on-page optimization (meta titles, meta description, meta keywords and h1, h2, etc tags) is bad. At the same time there are very few incoming links into the website. These are the key 2 issues we found. In order to proceed most effectively, what do you think would be more effective to focus on first? Doing the on-site optimization or focusing more on the link building? Do the search engines, in particular, google - weight more either of these parameters? thanks so much for all your advice! all the best egle
