Should we get more IPs?
-
We have an IP with 2 of our major sites hosted on it.
Because we own both, we exchange links obviously.
The question is, won't Google see that we have these sites on the same IP and thus figure for themselves that they might be owned by the same owner. So the it is almost link reciprocal linking.
The solution, host all sites on separate IPs?
-
Thanx for the good response Harald and Robert. I agree.
Logically I know Google ranks domain names, not IPs. But technically I am sure they use that data.
-
I think Harald is correct. It is already known so leave it be. Besides, you are talking about two sites and the effect they alone have on one another for linking. Why go to the expense and bother to have multiple IPs and manage them when you can focus elsewhere and keep this as it is and manage from one screen?
In the agency business we were tempted and did for a very short while go to a multiple IP approach. We even went so far as to never register as ourselves when we got the client domain names, etc. But, in the end, even with lots of sites, it is a pain in the butt and not worth the hassle. Our time is better spent in constructive pursuits.
Good question though and great answer Harald. Edit, sorry, Harry!

I think if they are now hosted together google knows it anyway.
We always take care of this before we set up new projects (From my experience - we in our projects could not see any difference - I think if your projects are good and have value then it dos not matter if thy are on same IP or not. ( If u going to get different IP - don't do SEO Hosting - google will now that all this IP´s are going to the same location).

How to do LinkBuilding in 2015 without getting affected?
Hello. My name is Palla Sridhar. from India. small time blogger. I have a SEO site which recently had 12 pv/day. I recently did 2 guest posts on 2 sites. On 1 site, I included link to my site's article in the content and author bio. In another I just did it in author bio. After that my traffic dropped to 4 pv/day. Is there any official guide from Moz, on how to do link-building? Is the above process of doing link-building correct? How to do it without getting our traffic affected in the long run and short run?

How important are different class c subnets and ip's
We're thinking of launching several blogs in our niche and 'building them up' organically, and then linking naturally from them to our sites (very conservatively). I was wondering if we should buy entirely separate hosting for these blogs and how important are separate ip addresses and class c subnets (shown on majestic SEO tools for instance). Is it possible to create a set of authoritative blogs in a niche and have them be a little 'neighborhood' within the same shared hosting provider (obv similiar class c or even same ip).

Which is better - A) links from multiple IP addresses, or B) Links with more associated social signals?
If you had to choose: A) 100 links contained in posts on 100 PR2* blogs, all on separate IP addresses, where none of the posts had associated social signals, or B) 100 links contained in posts within a single PR2* blog (single IP address), where each of the posts had 20 associated social signals, Which would you choose to increase your SERP performance? *I chose PR2 so that PageRank would not be a factor in the decision.

How does it take after getting links discovered by google to see increase in rankings?
Five of my friends linked to my site from their website and updated their sites through Google Webmaster tools right after linking to my site. Though the Google spider crawled the site as soon as they updated their pages, it still took about three weeks for my site to get a bump in the serps from their links. Why does it take that long for links to kick in and what is the average time it normally takes to see an increase in ranking from links once Google discovers them? Thanks mozzers! Ron
