Difference between Webmaster and SEOMoz back-link stats?

Hi there,
I just noticed that there are differences between the links to my site showing on my Google Webmaster account and what is showing on my link analysis on SEOMoz. Has anyone noticed this?
In webmaster I am showing 857 links to my site from 92 different domains.
In SEOMoz I am showing 816 links to my site from 53 total linking root domains and only 39 followed domains?
Does anyone know why this there is a difference?
Are the links showing in Webmaster all indexed and followed links?

Yes, i have also noticed this difference between GWT and OSE and not on only one site but on all the websites i'm in charge.
So don't worry you are not alone. I agree with comments above and think that if you want to have a scrutiny view of your links' profile you should use different tools like GWT, OSE, Majestic SEO, etc...each tool has its own strengh and the result will be a more diverse sample of links.

Hi Karl, as you had mentioned that you want to check the back links for your website.I would recommend you to use this tool Backlinkwatch. I had already used this tool.It is the one of the finest tools that I had seen which is free of cost & provides you all the details with do follow or no follow attribute too.
The tools that you had mentioned above was good but not the best. The Google webmasters tools can't help you to provide the list of all the back links & open site explore tool can provide you some of the back links with the anchor text only 3 or 4 because you had to registered yo get list of all the back links.
That's why I would recommend you to use backlinkwatch tool to get list of all the backlinks with anchor text & it is of free not any registration required.

There are quite a lot of posts about this.. OSE doesn't crawl every single page on the internet, so some links may not be listed/discovered. Even Google may not discover all of the links to your site.
Take the figures with a pinch of salt, try not to be so specific, but make sure that both figures are generally always increasing.

When it comes to links, I'd trust SEOMoz 100x more than any Google's tool, any day.

Hi There, I'm looking at my link profile and my Total External Links dropped uber dramatically back in April. Any way to figure out what the heck happened? My only idea is that this was around the time we launched a new version of the website but I'm not sure it corresponds exactly and anyway the domain didn't change. SEOmoz duplicate content checker
From my reports in seomoz i can see pages that are showing as having duplicate content but when i click on them it does not show me which pages are carrying the duplicate content? Is there any way to check this via semoz reports?

SeoMoz and incorrect results?
Just recieved my weekly Rankings and On Page report. First thing i noticed is that an important keyword dropped big time. "Rejser til Cypern" dropped from #3 to #40 ... So i checked google.dk myself (using impersonal.me) and saw i was still #3 in SERP. I ran SeoMoz's own Keyword Difficulty Report-tool. It showed me i was #3 in SERP. Now im thinking: Did i just loose my trust in Seomoz, to whom i give access to all my GA-data? What to do? Have anyone else experienced this?

Competitive Link Analysis Tool?
Hi, I ran a competitive link analysis report today and back came quite a few domains that 2 or more of my 5 main competitors link from. Is it worth me submitting links to these sites? And would i be best served submitting my homepage URL or submitting a brand page such as Creative Recreation Trainers? I want to target that brand but don't want to do it if my main URL is better? Linking C Blocks - SEOMoz says its a good thing?
In the competitve analysis, one competitor have more Linking C Blocks, Seomoz has a tick by it almost like its a better thing. Surely a site with the same administrative relationship is not going to help you as much from a linking point of view.

Can SEOMOZ do Local SEO ?
Most of our clients are local but we can not get local or regional (for example VA State or Washington DC) SERP results within SEOMOZ. it would be nice to create custom search profiles based on region (State or County) and track SERP within SEOMOZ. Ranking reports and even keyword difficulty analysis etc. within SEOMOZ are misleading for local web sites. SEOMOZ default site setup assumes every business doing SEO serves all over the US. I think it will be very beneficial if we have a choice to select State or County of local web sites during initial campaing set up at SEOMOZ. what do you think? do you know any work around of this problem? How is SeoMoz different?
In the past I heard that other SEO type crawling software like WP Gold could seriously harm your rankings in the search engines - especially Google. How is SeoMoz different ?
