Domain Name and On-Page SEO
-
Where are the best places to put your Domain name in On-Page SEO? My domain name ends in .net so I would like to put it as many places as possible to brand the .net .
On the analysis page I have found out that it is not a good idea to put it in the title page...but that is what the SEO guy I hired told me to do.
Thanks,
Utah Tiger

Utah Tiger
I am assuming you are UtahTiger.net and you have a quality competitor who is UtahTiger.com and you are trying to insure people know the difference and equate you with the .net.
If so, then I would go about it this way in terms of your on page. I would not put it in the title tag. I would see that from a customer point of view as odd. I would caution against trying to overdo it and have it on every page as well because it looks spammy. I would use an About Us or and About UtahTiger (title tag) with a brief who we are paragraph and then use an H1: There Is a Difference with UtahTiger.net or similar. for the content after the H1 I would tell the .net story. You could even then use an H2 that was: When you think of UtahTiger... Don't Forget the NET!
Anything catchy will work for branding imprint in a customer's mind. That is what you want. If your domain really was UtahTiger.net, man, that would be easy: We're the Tiger you caught in the NET!
That would be my approach. As to the SEO you hired, I would simply ask his rationale for the title tag and see if he has anything further for the strategy.
Best,

"On the analysis page I have found out that it is not a good idea to put it in the title page"
Did you mean that your SEO suggested to put the domain name in the meta title tag? In case, I've seen that suggested for smaller brands. I tried it out for www.ekornes.no, but I honestly can't see that it made any difference negative or positive.

Why don't all my pages have On Page Optimization Reports
Apologies if this question has been asked a million times, but I can't find it. I have 35 pages, yet only 5 of them have generated On Page Optimization Reports. I know I can create them manually, but wondered if I've done something incorrectly? Iain.

70 Domain Names Point to 70 Nearly Identical Inner Webpages
I have a new SEO client; his website has never been optimized. There are 70 domain names involved with this one website. Each domain name points to an exact replica of the main page, other than the fact that a small content box has different info in it, and sometimes the header graphic is different. So, 70 webpages that are 5% different from each other and 5% different from the main page. How badly is this issue affecting this website's ability to rank well, and what is the best way to solve this?

Different pages for OS's vs 1 Page with Dynamic Content (user agent), what's the right approach?
We are creating a new homepage and the product are at different stages of development for different OS's. The value prop/messaging/some target keywords will be different for the various OS's for that reason. Question is, for SEO reasons, is it better to separate them into different pages or use 1 page and flip different content in based on the user agent?

Changing domain name
Hello, we have 10 websites in same niche, and plan to build one strong site by making a 301 redirect from all sites to one. We think to do redirect each site to subfolder like this: www.newdomain.com/site1 www.newdomain.com/site2 www.newdomain.com/site3 www.newdomain.com/site4 www.newdomain.com/site5 www.newdomain.com/site6 www.newdomain.com/site7 www.newdomain.com/site8 www.newdomain.com/site9 www.newdomain.com/site10 And in root domain place unique content updated daily. Is this would work? Or this is bad idea? Looking to hear from a qualified technicians advice. Thanks in advance!

SEO for standard website pages
How do you folks approach adding some SEO value to the standard "every site has them" pages like "About Us", "Contact Us" and such? I struggle trying to find some relevant non-branded content. We normally cover all the customers relevant services and product offerings in pages specfiically tailored to that content, but don't want to waste pages if they could have some value in drawing traffic. Any great ideas, Mozworld? Thanks, Mark

Seo'ing Sub domains for images
We are currently adding some performance improvement to our websites, to improve user experience. One of the things we are looking at is splitting of images over several sub-domains, to increase the number of images that can be downloaded at the same. We have seen that using key phrases within image names has an improvement in rankings. So, the question is should we create sub-domains as key-phrase.example.co.uk or as i1.example.co.uk? K

Generic domain for SEO versus Brand name
I am currently building a retail e-commerce site in a highly competitive area. We have a generic brand name; e.g. kitchen-knives.com and we also have another brand name, e.g. 'slycers.com' We have 3 options that I can see and I would like to know which is better for SEO. Build generic.com as a blog site. Link to brand.com 301 redirect from generic.com to brand.com. Use generic.com as anchor text in all links 301 redirect from brand.com to generic.com . Use generic.com as anchor text in all links Also, if there are other better options, then I would appreciate the input! thanks
