I am sort of mystified at this . I have a homepage and it is for all intents and purposes optimized for the search term Charlotte electrician . If you type in Charlotte electrician I have no organic listing for this page . It does receive an A on the tool on this Site for the term target Charlotte electrician . Here is the URL http://www.providenceelectricnc.com/ now the strange thing is that for the search term electrician Charlotte the tool on SEO Moz gives me an F grade **as I would expect but I am the number one organic listing under electrician Charlotte . This is truly confusing to me it may have something to do with links but I don't see how at all . Thanks I've been studying search engine optimization and web development for about five years and appreciate any suggestion . this is a Joomla! site and I am running a lot of components and plug-ins . One combines CSS files and JavaScript files to minimizing HTTP requests . This particular component Seems to interfere with other scripts And is simply not compatible with certain other plug-ins . Perhaps it is the source or well I'm not sure thanks . **

I noticed you made the changes that I recommended except for one thing. You fixed the 404 error on this page http://www.providenceelectricnc.com/localelectrician.html but did not 301 redirect it to the home page which is where your trying to rank for. I would say unless you trying to rank for "Charlotte electrician" on http://www.providenceelectricnc.com/localelectrician.html it could possibly be fine but you then have a bigger issue. Both your home page http://www.providenceelectricnc.com and http://www.providenceelectricnc.com/localelectrician.html are duplicates. Bad Idea! If you redirect the http://www.providenceelectricnc.com/localelectrician.html to home page with a 301 redirect you should be able to garner most of the juice to home page.

Looks like you're ranking really well in local results for Charlotte Electrician, around #2. Here's a screenshot: https://skitch.com/cyrusshepard/8cht3/fullscreen
I also see this when I remove localization and personalization effects, so it's safe to assume you're actually ranking pretty well for this term, even if you're not listed in the "regular" results. Google has been constantly changing the way it displays and mixes local results with "regular" - but I'm going to step out on a limb and say that these days, your good showing should be considered equal to a regular result, for all practical purposes.
As for you ranking for "Electrician Charlottte", you may receive an F grade, but Google is more sophisticated at interpreting natural language, use of synonyms and intent, and obviously understands your page deserves to rank for this term even if you don't spell it out in concrete SEO defined terms.
All in all, looks like you're doing a lot of things right. Good luck with the rankings!

For some reason Google was giving more weight to this page for the keyword "Charlotte electrician"
http://www.providenceelectricnc.com/localelectrician.html
Which you’re ranking on 15th page for
Unfortunately I couldn’t tell you why because you have a 404 error on that page which is a bad thing
If possible quickly 301 redirect it to home page to pass some of its lasting juice
Secondly you seem to be having a canonical error which forces twin domains battling for SERP positions.
Also causing a possibility of a duplicate content issue
I suggest you 301 redirect the non www to the www since you are already ranking on it
This is a great start that should get you rolling in the right direction and a possible change for the better
By the way, nice looking site

Google search returns blog homepage, but not article
When I do a google search for a specific article on our blog the search results only return the blog homepage with the article title shown in the meta description, but never the actual article page. I've tried to refine my search by using site: and quotation marks around the article title (e.g site:www.example.com "article title") but still only get the homepage. Our blog is showing up so I assume it's not an indexing issue, but not sure how to get the article pages to show on serps. Any ideas? Thanks!

Where can we see voice search impressions/searches?
Hi Guys, As voice search seems to be getting more popular, I would like to start accounting for these searches. I've tried looking for low impressions/long tail searches in the Search Console but feel like I am just guessing which queries are search. Does anybody have any clever way of finding these searches or could you list an example of how/if you search using voice? Thanks!

Hello Moz, We have recently built a new website http://www.hegroup.org.uk/ The new site has the domain for one of the clients old sites pointing to it - heartofmersey.org.uk. When we check the SEO index (site:hegroup.org.uk) for the new site, most of of the indexed items are using the old 'Heart of Mersey' title in the index although these do redirect to the new site. See below. Heart of Mersey <cite class="_Rm">www.hegroup.org.uk/</cite>Jessica Bell · Andrew Bennett · Nicola Calder · Matt Donnelly · Alexandra Holt · Robin Ireland · Magdalena Kolka · Alison Gradwell · Matthew Philpott · Trustees. Not sure how to resolve this issue. Any suggestions Thanks Ian

Improving the search function on my site...
Hi all, The search function on my site is pretty bad... it basically lists every single product for any search query. Has anyone got experience integrating a 3rd party tool such as Google Custom Search or Pardot and if so which would you recommend? Alternatively, any tips on improving/ creating rules for site search would be appreciated. https://www.boardwarehouse.co.uk/ Thanks, Alick

Page Analysis - Helping Product Pages Outrank Search Results Pages
Hi! We have a lot of our search results pages that have been indexed and outrank our product pages and in some instance the actual product pages barely show up at all. Here is an example query that includes our brand name: http://goo.gl/cgB6W So, we have loads of actual product pages, video pages, etc that should be showing up here, but are not and this is just one example. Unfortunately, there are a LOT of these Search Results pages out there and utlimately we would love to de-index them altogether, but it's going to have to be carefully done. So, was wondering if anyone would want to check out one of our product pages and give any feedback as to what we could change to possibly improve rank or to make them more search friendly or hopefully to help them rise above these indexed search results pages? Here is an example product page: http://goo.gl/2R4IT Thanks!! Craig

How can I make google display rich snippets when searching for my domain?
My domain is www.phraseexpander.com If I search for phraseexpander in google, I'm in the first position (as it should be) but google is not giving extra space to my result as it happens, for example, if you search for "fogbugz". Is there any way I can hep google index my contents (I currently have a site index that is created by Yoast SEO). Thanks a lot. Andrea

Can't find Text-Only Cached version in Google search
Hi, I'm trying to view the text-only of a webpage to run a SEO audit, however Google does not give me this option. When i click the two arrows that appear to the right of a search result, the only option I get is Cached. Is there a reason this might be happening? I've tried clearing my cookies, signing out of Google, and anything else I could find on my troll of the internet. I also tried text, only please! however whether this works or not is debatable considering it shows me actual pictures on the site. Any ideas, or maybe another add-on that will work?

Has anyone ever attempted (successfully or not) to consciously reduce their amount of homepage links in order to improve their search engine rankings?
I work for a retail company that is highly segmented. We have a lot of categories to cover the types of merchandise we offer on our home page, and way more than the recommended # of links on our homepage because of it. Has anyone ever attempted (successfully or not) to consciously reduce their amount of links (and categories) in order to improve their search engine rankings? If so, can you walk through your process and your advice on whether or not reducing links on a site like mine is a good idea?
