Question about Competitive Link Comparison

Hi,
I am trying to see where backlinks are coming from into my site using the competitive link comparison tool but it only seems to be finding those from my own site, even when I click on 'only external'.
I know there should be links from Twitter, forums and our blog so I don't understand why these aren't being picked up.
Any ideas?

Yep - tried that and it doesn't seem to make a difference unfortunately.

What page are you checking? As well as picking "only external" have you tried selecting "pages on this sub-domain" or "pages on this root domain" to check for any links to any page on your site?

Hi Steve,
SEOmoz's linkscape doesn't update in real-time, so it could take a few weeks to see any new links. Possibly a lot longer for links from sites that aren't as well connected.
Can always use Google Analytics to see where referrals are coming from - handy for picking out useful backlinks.

Links not showing
Hi, we have been putting links to our website www.caffeinemarketing.co.uk from other sites we are connected to. Although these sites are up and running and have been crawled, the links are not showing up on mot. What else do I need to do? Is it anything to do with whether I put http://www. or just www. Does This Link Have Value?
Hi Mozzers, A client paid to publish a white paper, thinking that the link to the web site is beneficial. I am getting links on people's wordpress blogs but are not showing up on the just discovered tool. Is it true that wordpress links are no-follow links that do give off any link-juice?
A blogger told me that "wordpress.com does not allow blogs to show advertisements or use links to sites that sell merchandise of any kind" is this true? Am i wasting my outreach time trying to get links from wordpress operated blogs?

Ranking question
I have a question about the organic listing vs local listings my website ranks 1st for the local listings but I'm worried that since there's a site that is over the local the local listings im loosing traffic. Internal linking question
How important is internal linking from body content? If you have 500 words of content on each page is it good practise to try and get a few links in to other pages? Surely if you do this your pass more juice out of the page, which might lead to devaluing the page in the SE's.

SEOs and web developers frequently leave links to their site in the footer of their clients' sites. Does this negatively impact the site with the links?
Does this provide any SEO value to the receiving site? Has anyone experienced problems doing this?

Value of Inbound Links to Pages With a lot of Outbound Links
Suppose you have a resource page of the Top 50 Awesome Sites in your niche. Since there are about 50 outbound links, then I would think there will be less Page Rank being passed to internal pages from internal links on the resource page. Since you are getting less PR passed to internal pages, are there other ways the inbound links can be beneficial, such as increasing the diversity of links of your domain? Sites like SEO Optimise seem to create a lot of Top 30 Resources lists and I have read that they think it is a strong tactic.
