What are Branded Keywords
-
I see in the matrix the term branded keywords. What what is a branded keyword?
-
Non-branded: flannel lined jeans
Branded: Carhartt flannel lined jeans

Sometimes it's helpful to segment branded vs non-branded. I sell model warships that shoot and sink each other (a fairly small niche), and my company name is Strike Models (and was formerly a company called Swampworks).
If someone comes to me by searching Strike Models or Swampworks, they already know about me, and just want to find my site. I also rank high for these terms since it is my brand. If they search model battleships, then I have more of a feeling of accomplishment -- I've got a ton more competitors out there for that term, and here is someone who hasn't heard of my before that is a new potential customer.

Interesting, so for one of my sites it is KING of HUD, so people would have to start searching for me
KING of HUD
KINGofHUD
etc
Not sure why they would do that, but I guess that would be a huge positive sign of successful branding. It is funny we have been told forever now branding is dead it is all about SEO.

If your company is Acme Inc. any branded keyword is considered variations of your company name:
Acme
Acme Inc
Amce Inc
etc.
You figure out what regex works in google analytics or whatever analytics platform you have so you can filter these into groupings of branded and non branded when looking at traffic reports.

URL Keyword & Meta Title Problem
I was just reviewing my Moz report and came across something I could use advice on. The Keyword is "irish cardigans" I just moved to down a place to #5. I was going to add content to the page and back link a little to get back up on rankings but I noticed it is not all matching up. My Keyword is "irish cardigans" My Url is structured: products/traditional-irish-clothing-arans My metatitle is: Irish Sweaters - Traditional Irish Clothing - Arans & Cardigans The content title on the page heading is: Irish Sweaters and Cardigans. How will I change this to get my ranking better for "Irish Cardigans" The Page is also ranking for "Traditional Irish Clothing and Irish Sweaters" How do I know if I structure it to "Irish Cardigans" I will not loose traffic etc from the other keywords. Thanks

How to Access Keywords in Old Adword Account
Where can the keywords that go with a specific ad be found in Google adwords? Right now the only keywords we can find are all the collective keywords used across the 10 ads in the campaign. We need to which individual keywords are associated with each ad. Is that information available, and if so, where? Appreciate your input. David

Bing vs Google Keyword Research
Hi All, I have carried out keyword research based on Google Analytics, Keyword Planner, competitors and various other toolsets.
Reporting & Analytics | | Mark_Ch
My research has been based on performance metrics favored towards Google.
I'm looking to research keyword traffic metrics and suggestions based on Bing Ads Intelligence. My Logic
I have compiled my master list based on Google metrics.
I will carry out Bing search traffic metrics based on my Google master list.
I will carry out Bing keyword suggestions based on my Google master list. My Questions
#1 Will my logic yield me any favorable benefits based on the high number of Google users vs Bing users
#2 Should Bing favor a particular keyword with high search traffic compared to Google, is there a fear that creating a 'seo user friendly website page' could dilute link juice based on the high Google users. Any other useful advice would be welcome. Regards Mark0 -
Results for wrong keyword
I've started to look at ranking and visitor behaviour within a specific product category and I've come across this strange data in GA that i'm struggling to get my head around. keyword - wishbone necklace gold landing - ...necklace-dive-in.html bounce - 99.31% new visits - 0.00% The landing page is not anywhere in the results for the given keyword (nor does the keyword appear anywhere within the page). The data is spread out to date since Dec 2011 and the landing page accounts for about 97% of the traffic for that keyword. I then looked at browser which is 95% Safari (different versions) and breaking that down into City about 30% is (not set), 30% a single city and then there is a spread of locations. It might be fair to assume that therefore 60% could be the same location but there is still 40% to take into consideration. What I can't get my head around is how the landing page is being accessed so regularly for the wrong keyword. The correctly ranking URL only accounts for 5% of the traffic which is more in line with the estimated search volumes for that keyword. I've checked versions of the page going back and none contain the keyword. Am I missing something, or any ideas how to fix?

Exporting Keywords in Google Analytics
In the old Google Analytics, I would simply add &limit=30000 in the URL. Does anyone know how to export all keywords from the new Google Analytics?

How do you compare year-over-year keyword analysis without (Not Provided) screwing everything up?
We have a seasonal business. It is of no use to compare this month to last month or even this week to last week. The only real benchmark is to compare the same time period a year ago. I'd like to know how well I'm doing for a certain keyword. If I compare this month's performance to the same month's performance a year ago, I get corrupt results as much is now hidden in (Not Provided). Any solutions?

What impact will Google's 10/18/2011 announcement of 'Making Search More Secure' have on the ability to track specific keyword queries via Analytics?
The full announcement is here: http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2011/10/making-search-more-secure.html My concern is that the ability for Google Analytics to parse information on specific keyword queries will be diminished. The article hints that Google Webmaster Tools will be exempt from the problem, and I've never relied on Webmaster tools as a go-to for tying specific keyword queries to Goal Tracking (form submissions and sales). The community's thoughts on this one are appreciated. 🙂

Differences in keyword rankings in Google and Bing and Yahoo
Hi there, We have some keywords that are ranked so far apart on the search engines its puzzling. For example we have keywords ranked at say 10, 9, 7 etc on Google, not in top 50 on Bing or Yahoo. Stuff like that. Surely the algorithms can’t be that far apart? Is this indeed normal? Does anyone have the same issues? Thanks
