Do you split your personalities up? Do you have a private, personal Twitter acccount in addition to your professional Twitter account?
-
I read a lot on SEO, but I read way more on another unrelated subject matter (and have way more to say). Should I split my Twitter account into two distinct accounts (one for each subject matter)?
Do you keep a private, personal Twitter for screwing around with your friends and/or getting the word out on social issues pertaining only to your social circle? Or do you just use your professional account for this? Or do you somehow manage to not "waste time" on purely personal social networking?
[UPDATE: To abstract my question a bit: should I cultivate distinctly branded personal nicknames for different spaces that I am interested in? I have gone by "Loudogg" all my life but I am now afraid that as I grow professionally in different unrelated sectors that I will dilute my personal brand by Tweeting (and doing other activities) along too many different subjects as "Loudogg". To complicate matters, I am actually involved in more than 2 fields, and would like to grow in at least 3. Should I develop multiple personalities entirely? It just feels wrong.]

I think you're right; I think I'll split things up. Thanks!

My suggestion would be to probably make different pseudonyms. Something you could look into is whether the aforementioned people have personal accounts. I'm sure they have friends and family that they might not want to address as The Oatmeal and NotSleepy, so they probably have private accounts for personal sharing.

Dude you are delivering today!
So would you recommend going by entirely different nicknames altogether? I think of SEO nicknames that have stuck in my mind for some reason: Graywolf, Stuntdubl, Copyblogger, Randfish, Yoast, The Oatmeal, NotSleepy, etc.
For that matter, should I go by entirely different pseudonyms and conceal my real name while writing or executing in certain industries?

I like to split my accounts, mostly for the reason you mentioned above. I share dumb things with my friends, and do not want my clients or even people I network with to see them.
Sometimes I will post personal things on my professional account, but only when I think it is appropriate for everyone to see.
I also like to keep them separate due to the fact that my business/networking accounts usually get followers that are a little spammy or simply tweet 15+ things a day. While sometimes I want to see this stuff, I hate sorting between the bulk stuff and what my friends are tweeting. I find having two accounts very convenient.

Do you think its ethical to use your personal google authorship for outsourced content?
I routinely outsource nicely written content but never use my google authorship for those articles. Should I be adding my google authorship to those articles? Or would that be unethical and violate googles TOS?

Googe+ personal profile & business page conundrum
I have asked this question before and am still seeking help. My apologies for being repetitive and hopefully not too pesky but I am sincere in my search for guidance. I am looking for advice on how to manage my personal G+ profile along with my business G+ page. My challenge is the coordination between the two and getting people to add our biz page to their Circles instead of to me personally through my personal profile. Google+ requires that we have personal profiles- especially for authorship, but it's my business that I want to represent and promote. I do have the Google+ badge on my website and blog posts. And I am duplicating my posts on both the personal and business pages. I have joined a couple of communities and know that i need to find more and engage in those. And also, another question this brings up: in terms of the social signal aspect for our company website/blog, does it matter where I am building my Circles?

Should I create a Google + account for the brand for Rel=Author
Hi, What I meant is should I use the above mentioned account as rel=author for category pages etc? It seems to me improper to use my account (with my picture) in a category page and to show my face in the SERPS for searches like "Toshiba Laptops". On the other hand, if in the SERPS it will show our Logo it might increase CTR... Any thoughts? Thanks

On the "new" YouTube" layout how can I select the correct Facebook page to connect to when my Facebook account has multiple business pages attached to it?
On the "new" YouTube" layout how can I select the correct Facebook page to connect to when my Facebook account has multiple business pages attached to it? My Facebook account has three business pages and the "base" user profile. I am trying to connect one of the business pages to a YouTube channel but each time I attempt to do this YouTube selects the "base" user profile and I cannot determine how to switch it to the correct business page. I attempted to connect while signed in "as the page" but it would not allow that. Thanks for any help!
