Page rank and ranking down
-
Hi
I blog at Technostarry.
Some 3 months back during page rank update, my page rank went down from 3 to 2. I don't know the reason behind this.
And now, my traffic and ranking is also down. I am not involved in any bad SEO practices, I don't copy paste and I write original content. I am too confused as why and what has happened with my site. If someone could analyze my blog and look at my weak points then that would be great.
I would like to get any suggestions to get back my ranking and also page rank back.
Thanks.

Some fluctuations (between PR 3 and PR 2 in your case) do not mean anything bad. That's just natural.
As for the traffic, you didn't mention how huge was the drop in traffic and position? Chances are, that's another normal fluctuation

So basically you mean that I should do guest blogging and bring more links, right?
Any more suggestions.

It's possible that a lot of the sites that linked to you were devalued, thus bringing down your page's value with it.

Send us your Blog Url, and we can check it, but i don't know what to say, we dont know for which keyword you try to rank, tell us more about, keywords and which google .
thanks

Without access to your analytics data I'd struggle to say exactly what's causing it but after a quick look I'd recommend you have a deeper look into the following.
Panda - you've got a lot of ads above the fold on your articles and in places some of your sentence structure is a bit shaky. It might be that you've been caught out by one of the more recent Panda updates.
Links - you seem to have quite a few links from comments forms to your articles. It's probably worth doing some guest posting to get in context editorial links. Also it's worth remembering that Google have been cracking down on spammy link building a lot recently so even if you haven't been building spammy links it is possible that some of the sites linking to you were using spammy techniques and are passing less power now.

Page Speed or Site Speed which one does Google considered a ranking signal
I've read many threads online which proves that website speed is a ranking factor. There's a friend whose website scores 44 (slow metric score) on Google Pagespeed Insights. Despite that his website is slow, he outranks me on Google search results. It confuses me that I optimized my website for speed, but my competitor's slow site outperforms me. On Six9ja.com, I did amazing work by getting my target score which is 100 (fast metric score) on Google Pagespeed Insights. Coming to my Google search console tool, they have shown that some of my pages have average scores, while some have slow scores. Google search console tool proves me wrong that none of my pages are fast. Then where did the fast metrics went? Could it be because I added three Adsense Javascript code to all my blog posts? If so, that means that Adsense code is slowing website speed performance despite having an async tag. I tested my blog post speed and I understand that my page speed reduced by 48 due to the 3 Adsense javascript codes added to it. I got 62 (Average metric score). Now, my site speed is=100, then my page speed=62 Does this mean that Google considers page speed rather than site speed as a ranking factor? SEO impact of adding a lead gen form to a #1 ranked page
We have a page that ranks really well and gets a lot of traffic. We're wondering what would be the SEO impact of putting a lead gen form before visitors can download what they want. Currently, entrepreneurs can download a free business plan template kit. It's a zip file that include 6 files like a blank template, an blank Excel for the financials, examples files and links to related articles. The page is : http://www.bdc.ca/en/advice_centre/tools/business_plan/Pages/default.aspx Do you think that adding a form before downloading the zip file would cost us rankings? Thanks,

Help! Pages not being indexed
Hi Mozzers, I need your help.
Technical SEO | | bshanahan
Our website (www.barnettcapitaladvisors.com) stopped being indexed in search engines following a round of major changes to URLs and content. There were a number of dead links for a few days before 301 redirects were properly put in place. And now, only 3 pages show up in bing when I do the search "site:barnettcapitaladvisors.com". A bunch of pages show up in Google for that search, but they're not any of the pages we want to show up. Our home page and most important services pages are nowhere in search results. What's going on here?
Our sitemap is at http://www.barnettcapitaladvisors.com/sites/default/files/users/AndrewCarrillo/sitemap/sitemap.xml
Robots.txt is at: http://www.barnettcapitaladvisors.com/robots.txt Thanks!0 -

Domain Authority and Page Rank concerns when using CNAME
In the event that a person uses a service like Blogger or a photo service like Photo Shelter, but use a CNAME to resolve example.blogspot.com or example.photoshelter.com to example.com, how does that affect Domain Authority and Page Rank in real world results, and how does it affect the user when/if they leave the service and establish their own site? For example: A client has a blog on Blogger called johndoephotography.blogspot.com but uses CNAME so what is shown is johndoephotography.com. The Domain Authority is quite high since he is really on Yahoo's domain. How does that affect SERP rankings? Is it ignored, since it is merely a sub-domain, or does the parent domain actually give a benefit? The second part: If John Doe decides to host his own WordPress blog, what happens to that domain authority? Has he lost it all?
