RSS Footer
-
Hey everyone,
A lot of my content gets scraped regular. I'm wondering about using the RSS Footer plugin for wordpress. It allows you to put a link back to the page on your site from the RSS feed. You can use the title of the page as the anchor text or a brand name.
It could result in lots of scraper links...with branded anchor text
How safe do you think this practice is nowadays?

Thanks guys...post penguin, I was a little concerned too.

Given what's been going on with Penguin, I'd say steer clear of this. Alan's spot on.

thats a great question Peter. Not one I think anyone has addressed in a blog post. yet. Without evidence one way or another, I'm going with my intuition, and saying it's probably not a good thing. Unless Google formally comes out and says they can detect the combination of scraped content and footer links, to sort out that those are not intentionally malicious SEO links, I wouldn't trust their algorithm to sort it out.
Just an opinion at this point.

Hello,
Technical SEO | | Dinsh007
Recently, I was checking how my site content is getting indexed in Google and from today I noticed 2 links indexed on google for the same article: This is the proper link - https://techplusgame.com/hideo-kojima-not-interested-in-new-silent-hills-revival-insider-claims/ But why this URL was indexed, I don't know - https://techplusgame.com/hideo-kojima-not-interested-in-new-silent-hills-revival-insider-claims/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=hideo-kojima-not-interested-in-new-silent-hills-revival-insider-claims Could you please tell me how to solve this issue? Thank you1 -
Do web design footer links of websites you build have value?
Hi everyone. I am trying to build up DA for my site and create linking opportunities with my clients sites but I am not seeing any link value. I just did a redesign with another firm and we built out www.denbow.com . We have links to our sites in the footer but for some reason it's not being indexed. Can someone help me understand if it is good to put built by a href link in the footer? I've built almost 12 sites in my first 1.5 years of being in business for myself and I thought the links would pass some sort of value. Thanks in advance for the help and education. Regards, Noob Gary

RSS Feed and WebTraffic
I am a weebly user and have a site (crmi-online.com) which has an RSS Feed of my current blog entries on my home page. I am struggling with the following issues... Duplicate Content - Moz shows duplicate content for my blog articles. Which are also housed here (http://www.crmi-online.com/news-and-press-releases). Could having the feed on my site be causing this issue? Traffic- My Weebly stats show that the RSS Feed is my 2nd highest ranking page at 713 views per this month. However when I compare it to the data in Moz my news feeds or the actual blog page are not one of my top ranking pages. Can someone help to explain the difference? Also, it appears that my site gets a lot of spam traffic and I wonder if removing the feed would help and give more accurate numbers. Is it necessary? - Is it necessary to have both the feed and the blog page? I want to move to one of the new weebly responsive themes after having trouble with a current custom/non-supported template. If I do that the feed will have to go since it jumbles the content in mobile view. I am not sure of the need except for the aesthetics on the home page since I dont see any correlation to traffic to the actual article/blog itself. Thanks in advance for your help!

Problem with Wordpress RSS feed and Feedburner
Just discovered a problem with my company site's RSS feed. I'm a bit embarrassed to ask, but I thought someone in the community might have encountered this -- and I cannot figure it out for the life of me! We had redirected our Wordpress feed to Feedburner. We publish at least once per week, but no posts after March 18 are in the feed: http://feeds.feedburner.com/TheClineGroup The standard (Wordpress) RSS feed page does not load: http://theclinegroup.com/feed/ Of course, I deactivated all plug-ins to see if one of them was the issue, but the problem(s) still existed. Thanks so much for any assistance!

About Us in the Footer
For our new site we created a simple navigational footer. The development team wants to put a short "About Us" paragraph with relevant links to our products or services. I know putting footer links for the search engines is a big no-no, but is this different because it's meant for the users convenience? This is an image of our unfinished footer: https://www.diigo.com/item/image/3vpdp/jihw Are there any other changes we should implement? Thanks!

Duplicate Footer Content
A client I just took over is having some duplicate content issues. At the top of each page he has about 200 words of unique content. Below this is are three big tables of text that talks about his services, history, etc. This table is pulled into the middle of every page using php. So, he has the exact same three big table of text across every page. What should I do to eliminate the dup content. I thought about removing the script then just rewriting the table of text on every page... Is there a better solution? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Too many footer links?
Hi. We're working on http://www.gear-zone.co.uk/ at the moment, and I was wondering what's everyone's opinion on footer links. There's quite a lot on the page, and I was wondering if there might be a few too many. If so, what would be the best plan of action? Remove them altogether, stick them in an iframe or in a bit of JS so they can't be crawled? Thanks!
