Google analytics for your mobile sub-domain
-
Hi All, I have just started mobile sub-domain for my desktop site.
But I don't to know how to configure analytics for mobile sub-domain.
I want to track result between desktop and mobile site.
Can any one help me to sort out this problem?
Waiting for reply

- You can have one Google Analytics account that will be home to all of your site's data (this will track both desktop and mobile domains). You can then filter the results to show the differences between the devices.
Or,
- You can have one account for your 'desktop' domain and another for your mobile domain. This will result in two sets of data and is what the first replies instructions will result in.
I use method 1 as I prefer to have all my data in one place. If you want to do this you need to go to:
-
Admin
-
Tracking code
-
Standard
-
Select 'One domain with multiple subdomains'
-
Paste the code into your site
You will then be able to track your visitors on the mobile site as well as other subdomains.
-
I am understand what do you want to explain?
Can you please elaborate it?
Waiting.

The above method will give you one set of data for your mobile subdomain and another for your desktop site. If you wish to have them together then you can set up a tracking code for the whole domain and then separate mobile visits from desktop visits within your analytics account. I personally have all my data in one account and use one tracking code.

Hello Mate,
I have idea about above mentioned process, is it going to help me to track data between desktop site and mobile site.
Please do let me know.
-
In Google Analytics, go to:
-
Admin
-
Tracking code
-
Advanced
-
Click 'A site built for a mobile phone'
-
Select the server side language - PHP, Perl, JSP or ASPX
-
Paste the code into the pages you want to track
-
Put the ga.pl file into the root directory
There are more instructions once you get to those pages which will help you out.
I hope this helps.

The best way to track internal links in Google Analytics
Hi there, we are a retail business and we have invested in quality editorial content which sits in our Blog at ourwebsite.co.uk/blog/ The Blog links to the main site (an online store) and I want to track the 'value' of the blog by how many clicks the blog content generates back to the main store. At the moment we're using this code on the end of every link in the Blog: ?utm_source=Blog&utm_medium=Widget&utm_campaign=FromBlog Does this affect SEO and is there a better way of doing it? Thanks.

Would updating Meta Titles affect Google analytics tracking?
Hi All, I need a little bit of help. We need to optimize our blog's articles Meta titles for SEO which all exceed 100 characters. I was told that if we change the titles, google analytics would split the tracking pages and count the data as 2 pages (old title and new title). Has any of you have this experience before and if so, is there a way to avoid google analytics counting this as two pages? Thanks in advance! Hello, I have a website and it contains landing pages. after tracking and analyzing the data in Google Analytics , I found out that the traffic for the whole site is affected by the visits to the landing page. I mean, the bounce rate is less than one minute. this is because users fill their details in the landing pages and leave my website. to improve my website, I need clear data about the traffic, bounce rate etc. in my website. I also need can you help me solve this problem I thought about create another account in Google Analytics and set it to my websites pages (not including the landing pages). and keep the current code for the landing pages. my question is regarding this: Is it legal to use 2 different GA code (each one of them belong to different account) in the same domain ? can you provide me with more information about Multi Account in Google Analytics, and how can I use it to divide the traffic in my website between the traffic and the data for the landing pages and for the website itself ?

Google Links Disavow - Does that preclude new links from a domain?
If using Google disavow links tool and you disavow links from a 'domain' does that mean that any 'future or new links' from that domain will be blocked? Answer Yes is good if the domain is spammy but bad if the domain was submitted in error ........ Answer NO is good if the domain was submitted in error but bad if the site is spammy. Does anyone have an answer to this please? Also is there a disavow 'undo' request process available? cheers, Mike

Google Analytics & Omniture Discrepancies
I am seeing a significant difference between my traffic numbers in Google Analytics and Omniture (Omniture has significantly more). I do not expect them to report exactly the same numbers but these are just too far off. Any idea why that is, or which one I should trust more? Thanks!
