I am SEO amameur and have bee adding links slowly to site. I cannot seem to increase my domain authority from 20 however, Anyone any advice please????
-
I updated meta tags on website 2/3 months ago and saw a significant improvements in rankings for keyowrds, however since then I have been dropping back down. I am wondering if this is because of low domain authoriyty. it is currentyly 20. www.babskibay.com

I agree with this really people are obsessed with Page Rank and Domain Authority.....SEOr's need to get their head around the fact that traffic is what REALLY matters.
What if you had a site with a DA of 100 but got no traffic?
So OP what you need to really think about since you have started your seo campaign have you been able to increase your rankings and therefore have you been able to increase your traffic?
Ignore D.A for now.......
-
True but that shouldn't be the concern
Here's my advice
-
Yes but by giving them a few basic tips they'll increase both traffic and their DA.
-
Who cares?
You should be bothered about increasing traffic not your DA

Hi,
Overall the design of your site looks quite nice, so well done there. My tips would be:
- Upon looking at your link profile at http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/links?site=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.babskibaby.com you have very few links coming in and from only 15 domains. A few of these look like spammy comment type links so I'd concentrate first and foremost on gaining links from reputable sources. Try mum type forums, blogs and sites. Perhaps donate some of your products to a reputable mummy blogger in exchange for an honest review and a few links? We do this in the cookware niche and it works wonders.
- I notice you have FB, Twitter and Pinterest pages so that's good. I'd also add a Google Plus page. Spend less than an hour on it and you have yourself a nice looking page with some links back to your site. Add the icon next to other social media icons in your header.
- Your blog seems to be focused all around your site. The aim of it should be to give hints and tips in your niche. Try blogging about other topics that mums/dads would relate to. Write great content that deserves to be shared and the links will come.
- Your page titles look way too spammy and long. E.g. for the Baby Sheepskin Boots page the page title is "Baby Sheepskin Boots, Sheepskin Baby Boots, Baby Sheepskin Booties | Merrry Berries, Inch Blue, Skibz, Beauty And The Bib". It should be less than 70 characters and focus on just 1-2 key terms. Also, your content is pretty light on. You only have 2 lines of text on that page, and you can tell it's written for Google and not the user. Add more useful content.
Hope that helps!

Forecasting DA increases after merging domains?
Hi all, I wondered if anyone had any suggestions for forecasting DA changes after merging two domains. The context is that we have two sites and there is argument to combine them into one. To cut a long story short, one of the considerations is how much DA might increase if we migrated one domain into the other. Domain 1 has a DA in the 30s. Domain 2 (which we'd redirect) has a DA in the late 20s. Around 90% of the LRDs are 'incremental'. Surely there is a way to forecast what the increase in DA would be if we decided to combine? I haven't found anything online...

SEO for Metasearch sites like KAYAK or Trivago
Interested in getting some opinions of best practices for large dynamic sites? My main question is, should we be focusing on a different "strategy" if we have a similar type site or does the same principles still apply? Second question is would building a blog presence in our community be a better strategy than trying to get our dynamic pages to rank? If there is a great step by step or white paper resource anyone could recommend, would be greatly appreciated, as our technical team is just diving into SEO. If anyone cares to take a look, our site is SupremeGolf.com

Advice on Link Removal Services
Hello everyone, Due to the Penguin update my site unfortunately took a bit of a hit. A little while ago I submitted all of our questionable/bad links to the disavow tool, however I still wante to go back and delete any and all problematic links that are still out there. Ive looked into many services, however I haven't been too impressed. Removeem - The email addresses they provided weren't always valid, and their email tool didn't always deploy correctly - a lot of cross referencing and was not saving me any time. Link Detox - Free trial was a bust. They show you 10 links on the free trial, however for me, 9 of the 10 were all the same. Couldn't get a good feel of their system. Rmoov - Their tool is one where you upload your own links, and they help manage everything, however they DONT allow you to email through their system, so Im not sure how this helps my process if I have to do everthing manaully anyway. A lot of sites I see are also a full service approach that charge you based on how many links they remove, and this can get quite costly. I have also contacted:

Link Delete - No reponse from multiple email requests
Linkquidator - No response
Infatex - No response My questions to all of you are: Is there any company out there that you recommend that provide a self service tool [online or desktop driven]? Is this even an avenue I should explore, or should I compile my own list [as 3rd party algorithms are not always accurate] and reach out to sites manually? Is disavowing good enough and Im just spinning my wheeles trying to now get them all removed? Thanks!0 -
