One page wordpress site - what are the steps for SEO
-
Hello,
I am launching 5 sites with keyword exact domains. I am developing the sites on wordpress as one page sales funnel sites. What do I need to do to optimize my sites? Really appreciate any bullet points or directions.
Tks

SEO by yoast, as mentioned, has all the features of many paid plugins from 2010, plus more.
Also, use W3 Total Cache, and be sure to minimize your CSS/JS. This will significantly reduce page load + headspace.
Be sure to WWW canonical fix as well, which can be done via htaccess or a plugin if you're code adverse.
Directory submissions are fine, but they are low value. In-context links and video should be your primary focus.

1 pages sites won't work. Add in some more pages perhaps go for some long tail traffic. I've tried lots of one page sites and a few years ago they would rank, now however you need to do more as google doesn't like these one page sites used to push people away to other sites.

I would start like this...
Match the domain as follows: www.EactMatchKeyword.com
- Page Title: Exact Match Keyword ....<add other=""></add>
- Page Description: Exact Match Keyword ... < and descripstion >
- Blog Title: Exact Match Keyword
- Blog Description: <get your="">Keyword Exact Match</get>
- H1- Exact Match Keyword
- Content begins with Exact Match Keyword... content
- Related Key Words in content
That should do it. Try it and see if it sticks.
Adding a contact us page, a site map, and a Terms of Service page are recommended.

You may want to try Joost de Valk's SEO plugin for wordpress. It can do a lot to make your site more indexable, and easily create your Title tags and meta descriptions which are important for getting exact match domains to rank. I have to say that while exact match domains are still performing, they have taken a hit in the past few months, and will probably continue to be weighed less and less. They will probably always have some value, but it isn't a long term gameplan. We also use WP-Super Cache for our wordpress installs so that they load faster. Blog posts are great on a site like yours because it gives Google more content to help theme your site out and thus rank you for terms around your theme. It provides a way for long tail keywords to drive traffic to your site as well. Hope that helps a little.

yes, i have given it some thought and my plan will be 5 one page sites + a blog + link building + social media. Its not exactly a one page site with a blog but i've just taken your advice : ) I know it will be a little more work but im working a small market in ireland so hope full.
What are the best Worpress plug in SEO wide?
Also, should i avoid directory submissions?
tjks,

Yes, absolutely -- unique, relevant, and engaging content is always going to be king.
Just so you're warned, you're creating a spaghetti soup for yourself.
For example, what happens when a given domain falls short of first page... or worse yet, is twenty pages back.
"Link building," you say.
Ok that's great -- but what if all five sites fail to reach their target? You've now created a mini-net for yourself, which is undoubtedly more work than a single domain.
I'm sure you've already thought of this, but be warned!

Thank you very much for your answer.
When I say one page I was not very clear. Its a little different than you would normally see but its a very interesting design with content which engages the user and brings them down to the contact sheet at the bottom of the page. I have included a nice java script navigation function which carries people nicely down through the content. I know this is not the recommended design but each site focuses on just one service the company offer. I find people are sometimes overwhelmed by too much information and do not complete the desired action ie contact me to discuss further. I hope this makes sense.
I will include video - thank you thats a great idea.
Do you suggest I include blog pages too - would that help?

These are often dubbed "Google Sniper Sites". I would NEVER recommend simply creating a one-page site. It take all of 5 minutes to add in the additional pages which will add valuable creditability to your site.
I would first determine the commercial intent / KPI of the domains. Are you selling a physical product, info product, building a list, etc. This will determine the voice / message used for the next steps.
Create your landing page: 500-1200 words, 1-3% KWD, and intelligent use of LSI keywords. H1,H2,H3 main keyword, main keyword in first and last sentences.
I would then take the same article, and create a video that is in alignment with the core concept. Your video should be no less than 3 minutes. Longer the better -- seeing how videos will drive on-site time up. Direct sales-pitches are generally a no-no, as you want to build a personal connection with your reader and walk them through the emotional buying process. IE. solve their problems and touch on fear, vanity, greed.
Last but not least, you need to add in: about, contact, privacy, terms of service pages.
You can add in some additional on-site tricks, such as hiding the action button until the video is completely done playing. Also the new craze is revealing/flashing sub-headlines three seconds after page load. This forces the readers eyes back to the headline and prevents skimming.

301 migration - Indexed Pages rising on old site
Hello, We did a 301 redirect from site a to site b back in March. I would check on a daily basis on the index count using query "site:sitename" The past couple of days, the old domain (that was 301 redirected) indexed pages has been rising which is really concerning. We did a 301 redirect back in march 2016, and the indexed count went from 400k pages down to 78k. However, the past 3 days it went from 78k to 89,500. And I'm worried that the number is going to continue to rise. My question - What would you do to investigate / how to investigate this issue? Would it be screaming frog and look at redirects? Or is this a unique scenario that I'd have to do other steps/procedures?

Dear Mates, Could you check this category page of our e-commerce site: http://tinyurl.com/zqjalng and give me your opinion about, this is a Panda safe page or not? Actually I have this as NOINDEX preventing any Panda hit, but I'm in doubt. My Question is "Can I index this page again in peace?" Thank you Clay

Duplicate ecommerce sites, SEO implications & others?
We have an established eCom site built out with custom php, dedicated SERPs, traffic, etc.. The question has arisen on how to extend commerce on social and we have found a solution with Shopify. In order to take advantage of this, we'd need to build out a completely new site in Shopify and would have to have the site live in order to have storefronts on Pinterest and Twitter. Aside from the obvious problem with having two databases, merchant processing, etc, does anyone know whether there are SEO implications to having two live sites with duplicate products? Could we just disavow a Shopify store in Webmaster Tools? Any other thoughts or suggestions? TIA!

HELP! How do I get Google to value one page over another (older) page that is ranking?
So I have a tactical question and I need mozzers. I'll use widgets as an example: 1- My company used to sell widgets exclusively and we built thousands of useful, branded unique pages that sell widgets. We have thousands of pages that are ranking for widgets.com/brand-widgets-for-sale. (These pages have been live for almost 2 years) 2- We've shifted our focus to now renting widgets. We have about 100 pages focused on renting the same branded widgets. These pages have unique content and photos and can be found at widgets.com/brand-widgets-for-rent. (These pages have been live for about 2-3 months) The problem is that when someone searches just for the brand name, the "for sale" pages dramatically outrank the "for rent" pages. Instead, I want them to find the "for rent" page. I don't want to redirect traffic from the "for sale" pages because someone might still be interested in buying (although as a company, we are super focused on renting). Solutions? "nofollow" the "for sale" pages with the idea that Google will stop indexing "for sale" and start valuing "for rent" over it? Remove "for sale" from sitemap. Help!!

We sold our site's domain and have a new one. Where do we go from here?
We recently sold our established domain -- for a compelling price -- and now have the task of transitioning to our new domain. What steps would you recommend to lesson the anticipated decline from search engines in this scenario?

Home Page or Internal Page
I have a website that deals with personalized jewelry, and our main keyword is "Name Necklace".
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | Tiedemann_Anselm
3 mounth ago i added new page: http://www.onecklace.com/name-necklaces/ And from then google index only this page for my main keyword, and not our home page.
Beacuase the page is new, and we didn't have a lot of link to it, our rank is not so well. I'm considering to remove this page (301 to home page), beacause i think that if google index our home page for this keyword it will be better. I'm not sure if this is a good idea, but i know that our home page have a lot of good links and maybe our rank will be higher. Another thing, because google index this internal page for this keyword, it looks like our home page have no main keyword at all. BTW, before i add this page, google index our main page with this keyword. Please advise... U5S8gyS.png j50XHl4.png0 -
Can a Hosting provider that also hosts adult content sites negatively affect our SEO rankings on a non-adult site hosted on same platform?
We're considering moving a site to a host that also offers hosting for adult websites. Can this have a negative affect on SEO, if our hosting company is in any way associated with adult websites?
