I need to signon with a hosting/design company that is both cheap and has a nice partner package. Any ideas?
-
Yep, LiquidWeb is also our hosting company. Never had a problem.
-
Hostgator has the best customer service around. They have great reliability too as far as uptime goes. Not sure if they do design but they do offer reseller packages.

Makes sense!
Let's chat offline. Could you email me at alhallinan@gmail.com?

Thanks for all the tips!I need to partner up as a reseller for hosting. I also would like to partner up as a reseller with a web design company that is flexible, sometimes I will want to create the site, other times I want them to do the legwork.
-
I can personally recommend http://www.sennza.com.au/
-
I always have used www.LiquidWeb.com as my hosting company - their customer support just rocks!
They don't do designing, however.
Can you give us some more information on what you're looking to do?
-
In my experience, the best hosting companies aren't the best design firms and vice-versa. I would tend to choose one company for design and another for hosting.
-
What do you mean by partner package? An affiliate program? We use WestHost (dedicated server) but they offer some very cheap monthly shared hosting plans and they do have an affiliate program.

Does Designing in Sigma Reduce Coding Costs
A design service is using Figma to create modified form. Once the design is complete, Sigma will export CSS files. If we provide these CSS files to a coder, will this greatly reduce the required time to implement the. design on our website? Our website is designed. with a modified real estate theme. We are using exactly the same fields and functionality of the previous form. We are seeking to reduce coding time and subsequent costs. Thanks,

Side bar menu, good or bad idea.
Hi everyone, I have a little problem. Not that long ago I launched my new site. Everything seems ok, but I'm not sure if it was clever idea to have additional side bar menu option. I wanted relevant content to be accessible very easy without dropdown in main menu. It looks ok on desktop, but we have a problem with mobile devices. Even main menu is a bit confusing and sidebar at the moment is at the bottom of each page. When I placed it on top of the page, we had problem with tablet users as it is showing side menu with blank page and content is almost below the fold. I have a tool installed called usability tools and it shows how visitors are using my site. The hard bit is that nobody on mobile devices are using sidebar and that means people visit one page and leave without exploring any additional resources. Me and my developer are discussing that maybe we should have two main menu bars instead of sidebar, but I have no idea how this looks in real life. What is the best practises for sidebar menus these days? Maybe we have a designer here who can help me with this and do some work? My site is https://a-fotografy.co.uk/ Thank you for all help in input in advance. Regards, Armands

Blog.yoursite.com or yoursite.com/blog/?
Rand made the following post in 2009. In July of 2013 I question whether this is still best practice. Obviously, much has changed in our industry in four-and-a-half years! "...if you're seeking to maximize your ranking ability for a given piece of content, it's my personal belief that you should, most of the time, keep it on 1 subdomain under 1 root domain (but feel free to use subfolders as it makes sense). Starting a blog? I almost always recommend yoursite.com/blog over blog.yoursite.com. Want to launch a new section of content? Use yoursite.com/newstuff rather than newstuff.yoursite.com." Thoughts on how to speed up my site? (Other site ideas.)
I was wondering if someone had a few minutes to talk a look at our site and see how to speed it up. I've ran some of the speed tests and I get different results, so I'm not sure if my site would be considered "slow" or not. Also if there any other things that jump out at you (usability, side bar, things I should change / add / take away to make a users experience better, etc.) please let me know. Any feedback is good feedback to me. 🙂 I'm using WP Super Cache as well. Thanks!

SEOMoz crawl report shows a duplicate content and duplicate title for these two url's http://freightmonster.com/ and http://freightmonster.com/index.html. How do I fix this?
What page is attached to http://freightmonster.com/ if it is not the index.html ? Should I do a redirect from the index page to something more descriptive?
