How do I best leverage second EMD domain with same keyword as an important page on my other site?
-
(Fictional domain names and keywords follow)
Let's say I have an Adense site called Diets.com And on that site I've got 10 pages for the ten most popular diets, and each of those pages is optimized for the diet name. Let's imagine one of these pages is called, "The low-carb diet."
Then I went out and purchased the domain name LowCarbDiet.com.
How do I best use this new domain name?
My options seem to be:
1. Build an adsense site on LowCarbDiet.com.
But isn't it a problem when the the same owner of LowCardDiet.com and Diets.com are trying to rank for the same keyword? The new site would be trying to rank for "low carb diet" and so would the appropriate page on Diets.com. I think Google doesn't like this. True?
2. Make a one-page introductory informational site with no ads on the new LowCarbDiet.com. Have a prominent link from that site to the appropriate page on Diets.com for the reader to get "further information."
This link with the proper anchor text should help boost the page in Diets.com in the SERPs. IF Google doesn't dislike that.
SO...is one idea better than the other? Are neither a good idea? Is there a better way to utilize this new domain? It's important because this second domain name's keyword is about to get a huge amount of search traffic.
The new, parked domain name is currently registered in the same name as the existing site's name. I could change the registration or privacy it, but I assume Google maintains records of all past registered owners, and if so, I can't really hide ownership.

Thank you for the response.
"I'd build a new adsense site on Lowcarddiet.com but I'd host it with a different company so I don't get penalized for having the same C block address for both sites."
That damn Adsense is always a problem. Making new entities is such a pain in California with the $800 LLC fee. But it can be done, with or without an LLC. I've faced this before and always end up thinking it's not worth the hassle.
"Finally the most important question is whether you already have a presence on the first page for that keyword, if you've got the number one spot I would justify making the effort of getting another site there, if not then your time might be better spent improving your rank for that keyword."
It's in the top five now, however, this keyword is going to be getting a ton more competition in the near future, and I'm thinking the EMD would really help.

To clarify you would only need to do this since you're trying to optimize the two sites for the same keyword,
From what I've seen Google assumes that sites hosted by two different hosts are probably run by separate entities, and therefore links between the two sites are less likely to appear as an effort to game the SERPs.
This of course brings up the question of whether EMDs are still worth buying in which case I would say they are.
Finally the most important question is whether you already have a presence on the first page for that keyword, if you've got the number one spot I would justify making the effort of getting another site there, if not then your time might be better spent improving your rank for that keyword.
Hope this helps

Best way to boost ranking for most important keyword?
Hello! I have a blog that is doing really well. Low bounce rate, search queries going up pretty fast, more organic traffic than my first blog. I shot up to spot 5 for my main keyword which was a thrill. But I have dropped back down. According to Google Webmasters I was at spot 11, then 12, and today 13. I worked on doing a lot of internal linking to the page that was ranking at # 5. It is a category page although I'd like my homepage to rank high for that same keyword one day. My site is less than 2 months old and I know it takes time but I am seeing so many signs of great potential. I am looking for ANY advice on how to boost my rankings for this one particular keyword. Thanks! 😃

How is it that Craigslist, and Backpage get a boost from google and take over 1 or more of the page one results in my niche? Ive also seen people ask a yahoo question, and answer with a link to their website? Are these just temporary boosts?

Open Site Explorer - Finding 404s from my competitor's external linking Root Domains
I want to find websites that have linked 404s to my competitors. My goal is to contact webmasters who have linked to my competitors with 404s, but I cannot figure out how to get Open Site Explorer to give me that data. I can easily see this in GWT for my own site, but I need this for my competition instead. Does anybody know a quick way to get this information?

Should I post an article to the same article site each month or should I vary the sites I post them to?
Hi Community,
Link Building | | acs111
Im planning on creating an article each month centred around 1 keyword.
Is it best to post this to the same site. eg http://ezinearticles.com/ every month or should I try to post it to a mixture of different sites? I'm trying to rank a site higher for their chosen keyword by gaining links from anchor text within each article I create.0 -
Helpful or Hurtfull / Distributor Links to Our site on every product page?
We have a distributor site with a page rank of 3 on its home page, and 0-1'ish on its product pages. While our manufacturing site is PR 4 getting close to 5... We are thinking about adding a link from our distributors product pages to our manufacturing appropriate material information page. This would be about 10k links spread out among 7 materials. We want to add these links to help our distributor sites customers, but we don't want to hurt our manufacturing site in the process. I personally don't know of any problem this would cause, but our manufacturing site is so important I need to verify adding this many links wouldn't hurt us. Your thoughts and knowledge is appreciated.

Lack of keyword targetting
Consider a scenario where a website has a considerably higher no. of back links than its competitors along with a greater Domain Authority, Mozrank etc. The only thing missing is keyword targeting. In such a case, rather than trying to build new links with keyword rich anchor text, wouldn't it be better to first focusing on changing the anchor text of the links that are already pointing to the website? How much impact would this have on its rankings? If the gap in back links, and the "value" of the back links is far greater than its competitors wouldn't this in itself help to change things around drastically?
