Differences between metrics

I am trying to understand the differences between metrics for page, subdomain and root domain. Especially as the results compared to my competitors differs in the different metrics.

Hi Pontus,
The 3 metrics are measuring links pointing to specific place.
Page : In the example you gave that is looking only at links pointing to familjesmycken.se - no sub pages, other domain etc.
Subdomain: This will include links to any other pages on that subdomain, so a link to familjesmycken.se/somepage.htm or familjesmycken.se/myfolder/somepage.html would also be counted AS WELL AS the ones for that page.
Root domain: This would count links pointing to any other subdomain on the familjesmycken.se domain as well. So links to www.familjesmycken.se www.familjesmycken.se/mypage.html sub.familjesmycken.se/folder/page.htm etc would all count

Http://domainame/brooklyn or http://domainame/brooklyn.html; is there a difference?
I understand that for SEO purposes you would use a 301 redirect, form either www. or no www., because SE's see them as two distinct sites and you are splitting your links; do SE's see extentions .html as two (2) sites also? for example: http://domainname/brooklyn or http://domainame/brooklyn.html. Are the search engines also treating them as two (2) sites? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, Thanks, James

1 Domain - 2 Links Pointing to 2 Different Pages
Hi Guys, I wonder if you can give me any pointers: We have an exact match domain name that is ranking #5 for our main keyword and is getting some good traffic through the site. We have just created a landing page for another keyword with fresh content that will be updated every week. The question is, I've been building links to my domain name and I'm just wondering if we built another link from 1 of the sites we already have a link on and point it to this new landing page would this help it rank better or not? Multiple domains on same IP address, same niche but different locations.
I have a reseller web hosting account. I have more than 30 domains hosted on this account, and I have only one IP address. The websites are exactly similar in terms of niche but different locations, for example plumberlondon.co.uk

I have question regarding inbound links from different subject websites. We are selling home decor products on our website and getting links from different subject websites. I want to give more idea about it. I love cooking and write articles on recipes... My article will live on following website with my signature and signature will contain links to my website. http://allrecipes.com/ So, will it help to my website or not?

Dripable.com and dripfeed.com. I really see no value whatsoever in any service like this. If anyone has an opinion that differs from mine. Go ahead.
I cant believe people are still using services like this. The interesting thing is that they do seem to offer great customer service, but that "service" seems to only spin comment spam and back profile backlinks. Id love for our community to discuss more sites like this so that Junior SEO's or people just starting dong get wooed by the promise of AWESOME links. Cheers,

What's the difference between follow and nofollow links?
I understand this may be a really dumb question and from my understanding there is a piece of code in some url's that tell search engines not to follow that link. I am interested in finding out what the purpose of nofollow links are and how they apply to search rankings. Thanks for the help
