Open Site Explorer

Typically when using Open Site Explorer to analyze links, how long does it take for them to show up? I have some links that are on high page ranking sites, yet they still do not show up with the Open Site Explorer.

OSE can be a couple months behind at times. I think this last one was through May? I also think I read that it has a smaller index than previous ones so your links may not appear.
But I would use a variety of tools. OSE is great but it often misses a bunch of notable links. WBT also has a great tool for checking site links

We are aiming to update Open Site Explorer data on a monthly basis. The data isn't real time, but instead lags behind a few weeks (we crawl, then process, then publish). We just had an update, and there should be another update on August 3rd -- see our handy dandy calendar at https://seomoz.zendesk.com/entries/345964-linkscape-update-schedule.

It should appear, you can use the search feature within the tool.
It also updates every 30 days or so, and if it was within that gap, it might not appear yet.

Web2.0 and private sites backlinks loop hole
Let suppose i have one target page i.e video and one web2.0 blog or wordpress blog. If i keep on adding new articles on web2.0 and in each article i add one back link(with different anchor text) to my same target page. Is this create red flag in google as i will be using one domain? Do I need to keep my web2.0 like bloggers.com and weebly or wordpress blogs relevant to one topic to increase the relevancy score. If i try to keep them relevant my back links to target pages from one domain increases again. I kind of stuck up in this loop help me out!

Google disavow DMOZ/ODP spam sites?
Hello Looking into links to my one of my sites (over 10 years old) I've found that along with some bad spammy links, around 80% of my inbound links are from directories that are exact copies of ODP. Should I be concerned about / asking for removal / disavowing these links? Normally I would be trying to get rid of low quality links like this, but since they are ODP clones I'm not sure it's worth the effort. The sites openly state that their data is from ODP (Open Directory Project), but does this mean Google ignores them? I could spend my whole life swatting these links. Thoughts? Edit: I'm hoping for suggestions that specifically reference the ODP clone site situation. I did not create these links, I guess I should have made that more clear.

Do Follow- Social Media sites
Does anyone have a list of do follow social media network sites. I am looking to list some of my customers on social media network sites, but having the bonus of do follow to pass link Juice is an extra bonus. Most of my customers have Twitter and Facebook profiles- but these happen to be no follows. I am looking for more social media sites that are do follow. I did see an article on this- on SEM MOz I believe but I cant find it. Any suggestions?

Pretty basic question on how best to start using open site Explorer
So I have spend around a month or so with on page optimization on 25 -30 or so pages and keywords/phrases, with some half decent results…still hoping there is more to come… I reckon now it’s time to look at getting more inbound links with Open site Explorer… Every time I look at it though I get a bit of a head ache…! Can anyone say or point me in the right direction how I should really start using Open site Explorer ? (I have the PRO tool) Thanks, sorry its such a simple question!

Links from multiple sites coming from the same server?
Hi SEO Mozers, As I structure my link building campaign I come across alot of directories some of which are located on the same server. If I am to place links on these sites is this is negative signal for big G? The reason I ask is because I see that a competitor has used these various directories and is ranking on the no 1 spot for a moderately competetive keyword. I am able to place links on the sites with almost no effort at all therefore even if it does not pass alot of link juice is it still worth it for me. But if this is seen as a negative I would not persue it. What is your thoughts on this? Thanks in advance, Ross
